I love black and white photography and have a bit of disagreement with Marti. If shot properly like yours, waterfalls indeed can make gorgeous photos (think Ansel Adams at Yosemite.) Joe's crop seems perfect as it removes the blank space across the top of your image. By the way, you used a Tamron lens. I'm considering a Tamron 100-600 for birds and wildlife on our ranch and for my trips to Bosque del Apache wildlife refuge. Have you had any experience with this lens? I've seen photos from this and they appear quite sharp. In fact, two of Audubon's 2019 award-winning photos were shot with this lens. |

You're exactly right -- this was just to the right of my December shot. In fact, I recall I was taking the December photo when these horses appeared. |

Your color enhancements definitely added some pop to an otherwise drab looking building. I also think you achieved your goal of giving the image a different style than an ordinary photo. From a composition standpoint, I feel the image is busy and lacks a clear focal point. |

When I think back on my childhood, I remember the ads for the old Lionel model trains. This looks exactly like something they'd use to entice us youngsters to convince our parents to buy us a train set. Nice work! |

I really enjoy seeing images like this -- not so much of a particular subject but rather something like a graphic design, an impression, an abstract. These look like they are either burned or dead pines. Against the white snow they offer a beautiful design. I enjoyed admiring this. |

Gorgeous shot! The reddish hoodoos against the white snow really make this image pop. Your composition also provides a perfect depiction of Bryce. Having been there myself just in the fall, I agree that it's extremely cold! Your feet get numb, your face gets numb, your hands get numb. Too bad you had to give up on your sunrise photos. Look on the bright side: Maybe it was so cloudy that a sunrise shot wouldn't have worked anyway. |

Great capture of the stars. The trees and slight rise in the foreground provide a nice anchor. The only problem I see is the large amount of noise in the sky, likely due to the very high ISO of 8000. Next time you might try for a longer exposure and lower ISO to reduce the noise factor. |

Lots of things to like about this image: You did a masterful job of getting the perfect exposure in order to capture the lights. You got some lovely reflections in the water. And it was all sharply focused. Can't think of a thing to improve this one. |
