I see what you mean about the top edges. That's something I never think to check. Glad you mentioned it. And to all who preferred the original, my critic in chief has weighed in: My wife says she prefers the original as well! Case settled!!! |

Very nice portrait. Definitely something that would be worthy of placing in fashion magazine. Her eyes, however, seem bloodshot to me. Maybe this is her natural color. If not, perhaps you could whiten them up a tad. |

Wow! This is amazing. Makes me dizzy to look at it. I've never seen something processed like this, unless it was the scene in 2001 A Space Odyssey where the astronaut is zoomed into another dimension. |

On re-looking at it, I agree with you and Jerry. That Zen feel was what I was after. The blues in the original convey that soothing approach much better than the revised version. Appreciate your comments! |

Great job and innovative way to capture such a tall building. I did notice that the two smaller buildings on the right and left have some perspective issues. Maybe you can do a bit more processing and straighten them up. |

This is a very beautiful image. I love the reflection of the bridge in the water. You mentioned that you tried different crops. To me, it would seem to work better as a vertical. For example, crop out that roof on the left which doesn't add much to the image and then crop a bit from the bottom to remove the rectangular brown object in the bottom right. I think this would better focus our attention on the bridge and its nice reflections in the water. |

Great capture -- massive storm clouds capturing the evening light. Just as a suggestion, you might crop the bottom at the top on that hill or ridge. To me, this is dead space. If you crop, you'll draw more attention to the pretty colors on the city below. Nice work -- as usual! |

You live in some beautiful country! Love the shot and how you composed it. I suggest opening up the shadows slightly to provide a bit more detail of the barn's roof. Great image that would be perfect for a calendar from your area. |

I agree with John that the blue is too strong -- try lowering the saturation slightly. The rock also has a slight blur. I think you could also crop a chunk off the right side to bring more attention on the monolith. I'm really curious about the "bridge" on the far right side of the image. That also looks like it would have made a great image. |

John, you are exactly right about the focus. The telephoto lens I own is basically worthless. Fails to take sharp images, even on a tripod. |

A spectacular image. I love the processed image you came up with. The rock acts like an anchor to draw us in. Then there are soothing ripples capped by the Northern Lights. I did notice that you might have lost some of the bright stars that are apparent in Original 1, but that doesn't bother me at all. I didn't care for the red boat you dropped in Original 2, simply because I personally don't care for things artificially introduced into images (unless it's advertising, commercial purposes, etc.) I also might suggest toning down just slightly the white caps coming off the right side. This is a fabulous job here. I'm always anxious to see what creative things you bring to us each month. |

A strikingly beautiful image and wonderfully captured. The tall trees on the right provide the perfect frame for the stars. I did notice that the waves on the shore had an unnatural looking white streak. Don't know how you could tone that down. A well done shot! |
