Thank you Kaylyn and John, I've got to be honest -- this was taken in a moment of panic. All the flowers are gone in our part of the world, and I desperately tried to find something to post for this assignment. Found this -- total junky looking flower and trash around it. I snapped the photo and that's what you see. I admit -- this ain't any beauty!!! |

I think Jerry nailed all the points I would make. The different combinations of colors make this a very attractive, and soothing, image. Since I've never been around the Great Lakes, I was surprised to read that it was taken at Lake Michigan. I thought it was taken in the Bahamas or a place like that. |

A nice composition. I especially like the special touch of the clouds reflecting in the water. The different geometrical shapes and colors create an interesting visual attractive. Maybe it's just my aging eyes, but the focus seemed off in spots. For example, the shore plants on the right appeared sharp while some of those on the left appeared soft. Same with the lily pads. Again, it just may be that my own eyes are the ones at fault. |

The best thing about this image is how you processed it to enhance the colors. The original was rather drab, but you've really made this pop. |

I agree with the above comments. A beautiful fall photo. This would look nice in a double-page spread in a travel magazine. |

I consider this a wonderful image, filled with an Old World painterly quality. I also admire you for the work and creativity you demonstrated in preparing it. It's not unusual to have a divided opinion at camera club meetings. Sometimes it's nice to get their opinions, but mainly you've got to do what you like and enjoy. |

Wonderful setting and generally good composition. To me, there seems like a lot of vacant green space at the lower left. Perhaps move closer to the path and get more of a line of the path leading to the mountains. I agree that the focus seems soft on the trees. Your note stated that capturing the fall colors of the trees was one of your goals. If so, you might in the future ensure that they are tack sharp. |

A pretty shot and certainly demonstrates the wonderful assortment of colors. As a suggestion, I found myself trying to discern what the focal point of the image is. There are various elements but nothing strong enough to capture my attention. Perhaps focus more on a particular fish, capturing details of its colors against the backdrop of the pretty underwater plant life. |

Great capture. I've never seen a sunset (sunrise?) look like this. Almost appears setting behind a mountain range. The circling birds add a nice touch. |

This is a beautiful image. You did a great job capturing it. While I wouldn't change a thing about this, you might try to get a second image out of this. Crop down to the trees and focus on that pretty line of colors leading into the mountain. No reason why you can't get two different perspectives off of the same shot! |
