Definitely an unusual juxtaposition! You did a great job of recovering the blown out overexposure. The cropping focused our eyes on the sculpture (?), if that's what they call it. Shows that some shots that we once tossed can be salvaged with a bit of work. |

I believe she just used a slow 1/2 second shutter speed and waved the camera around. |

Nice, creative technique. Can't think of a thing to improve it. We often use this same technique at Bosque del Apache NWR in New Mexico to capture sand hill crane and snow goose lift offs. Makes a striking image. FYI, we'll be up in your area in October to attend the Trailing of the Sheep festival in Ketchum. Doing a big loop from Boise to Missoula and down to Ketchum for the festival. Can't wait. Hope to see some beautiful fall foliage. |

I agree with Jerry that you've created a nice composition. I also agree with him that it appears a little too bright. |

What a creative concept! I also admire the work (and patience) you demonstrated in assembling the various elements. I actually feel inadequate to comment since I'm a Photoshop goof and you're a pro. So from a goof to a pro, take my advice for what it is: I don't think the image works -- not from the outstanding creative concept standpoint -- but rather it looks to me like magazine cutouts pasted down. I can't offer any suggestions for how to improve it since my skill level at this is zilch. As I've said many times, I am in awe of the fabulous work you do to push to envelope of Photoshop. Most images rock -- this just looked too "Photoshopped" for my taste. |

Very creative! Looks like something you'd find in a museum of modern art, alongside Andy Warhol. I noticed that the lips in the middle appear a little darker than those at the corners, and assume this is intentional. I did find the white dividing lines between some of the prints distracting. Some of the images are seamless, so I imagine you can remove the white lines on the others to make them seamless as well. |

I believe the description is from my photo. These forks sure don't look like goats! Anyway, this is a great arrangement and composition. I think you were especially creative in making this a black-and-white. This accents the shadows and makes it a compelling abstract design. Reminds me of some of the black-and-white masters from the 1930s and 40s. |

What a beautiful setting. I like the way the right side of the island sweeps down with a line of trees along its spine, and then is balance by an uplifting of trees going up the side of the crater. I understand how pretty the blue water is but in my opinion it simply creates some empty space and distracts from the Pirate Ship. I suggest cropping off the bottom and top and then cropping off the left side. That way you'll bring full attention on the island and the sweeping lines that create such a nice composition. |

Marla definitely got better and more realistic blues than me! |

I agree with Marla that this is a lovely image. Especially nice work on spotting the light on the shore and tree, and also capturing the stars. The distant clouds offer another perfect touch. You definitely nailed this one! |

Great suggestion. See the revised version. The blues are quite as dark but I probably did over process them. At least the bands are nearly gone. |

I really admire you spotting a scene, and then turning around so you can capture it. I need to do that more often! This is a nice landscape. The cloud provides a wonderful dramatic look. I do think the blue is over-saturated. I played around with it and tried to tone down the sky, while making it a more true blue tone. I also think this could be an especially dramatic black and white. I did a quick attempt to give you a glimpse. I think turning this into a black and white really makes the beautiful cloud pattern just pop. Anyway, see what you think. |

Beautiful setting. Love how you balanced the fishermen (fisherpersons?) on the shore with the lighthouse. This really provides a sense of place and even a story element. I did feel the image was a bit too dark. I also believe you could trim some from the top and bottom to bring the focus more on the fishermen and lighthouse. I did a quick and dirty cropping. I also brightened the whites, opened up the shadows and removed a little more debris from the shore. |

Beautiful image. Really captures the scene. Excellent composition and smart use of the iPhone tripod. Wish I could offer advice on the curve at the bottom. I tried fixing it in Lightroom, to no avail. |

I see those but can't make them disappear. Tried adjusting the noise reduction and everything else but nothing seems to touch it. Maybe someone has an idea. I'd sure appreciate knowing how to fix the problem. |
