I appreciate everyone's comments about the focus, especially Jerry and Kaylyn mentioning focus stacking. I wish that wildlife photos afforded that opportunity. As in this shot, the animals are always moving. The birds were moving, the coyote was moving, etc. In many instances such as this, an animal, such as a coyote, suddenly appears. As a photographer, you have maybe 5 seconds to frame, adjust exposures and shoot before it disappears. The best similarity is shooting action sports photos -- there just isn't the time to do everything to capture the perfect shot. I shoot a lot of photos and hope that one or two turn out. |

Personally, I like the image with a biker, as this seems to better illustrate the story and tie in better with the banner. For example, when I saw the yellow banner, I didn't know whether it referred to bikers as in bikes or bikers as in motorcycles. Your revision, I think, made the image complete. |

Looks like something in a fairy tale. Pretty flowers nicely frame the twig house. To me, it appears a bit overly saturated and garish, however. I don't whether you could have gotten any closer to the structure, but I'm wondering about working on a more creative composition. While you've done a nice job, I'm wondering if you could have captured a different angle, a different view, something that would take this beyond an image that we would see on a brochure for the garden into an eye-popping shot that would really catch our attention by taking a fresh and unusual perspective. |

I'd name this image "Stripes." Beautiful capture and processing to bring out the great bands of color. Love the composition. The small yellow plants the bottom give it a nice pop. Perfect landscape. |

Nice job of editing and the way you removed the barricades and lights. The two pedestrians look a bit artificial to me, especially the way their feet are touching the ground. I only wish that you had had a biker going along the street, since the sign welcomes bikers. As always, I enjoy seeing what new and creative endeavors you develop each month. |

I'm sure you achieved your purpose in improving your skills by exploring and trying on the many image enhancements that are available these days. I certainly like how you blurred the background and cropped to draw attention to the horse, rider and man in the background. I'm sure you realize, since this is practice, that the horse's mane and man's face are green and the horse is too shiny. |

A beautiful capture of sunset (sunrise?) colors. Sharp focus throughout. The boats are a bit hard to make out, so perhaps open up the shadows slightly. I feel that the image lacks a strong focal point. The golden color on the water is where my eyes first went, but there was nothing there to serve as a focal point or to direct me to a strong element elsewhere. Maybe if you had cropped more and focused on a particular boat or two you would have had a stronger composition. |

A wonderful study in textures and muted colors. Perfect exposure and focus. I kind of wish the blurred limb in front of the leaves wasn't there as it seems to be a distraction. I do like the gradient you added to the bottom. Nice touch. |

I hadn't noticed the blurry spot on the left. Thank you to you and Theresa for pointing it out. |

Thanks for your thoughtful comments. The dark background is a mountain in shadows. |

Great capture of the horses, especially with the golden light hitting them. You might consider cropping a little off the top, bottom and left side to bring a tighter focus on them. |

Much better! Your cropping really helped draw us into the image. |

Ah, one of my favorite parks! I agree with Theresa about the color of the sky. It appears more turquoise than the deep blues I've seen there. Wonder if the sky got thrown off when you adjusted the saturation and vibrancy of the canyon walls. I like the composition. The pinnacle in the foreground serves as a strong focal point, and the trail winding down the wall adds a nice touch. Nice, sharp focus throughout and perfect exposure. |

Extremely crisp focus throughout really makes this image. The red rocks and pine on the right provides a solid anchor and focal point. I also like the contrast in colors between the reds, pure whites, greens, blue and gray skies. Nice work. |

This is a very nice image. I especially like how the dock leads off into the distance. This is almost an exercise in getting a sharp exposure with various F-stops. It's sharp all the way with an f/20, so you nailed it. Just wished there were something at the end to better capture my attention. Nevertheless, this works well. I think you could crop out the big distraction at the lower left of the shot. I don't know if this is a roof or some type of pier, but I do think you could enhance this image by cropping this out at the bottom. |

This is a beautiful shot and extremely well composed. I love the subtle colors on the canyon walls. The winding river certainly catches the eye and draws us into the shot. A perfect shot and one that would look nice framed and hanging on your wall. Congratulations! |
