I agree that the kids watching the combining operation really add to the story. This image, I feel, is really strong. |

For me, this image is filled with action. You have captured the bull and rider just at the right moment, when the hooves are up in the air and the cowboy is too! I think you have also done a good job of adjusting the exposure to make a too dark image much brighter and powerful. Even the graininess, I think, adds to the overall feel and roughness of the rodeo arena. I do like the way you cropped the image to focus more on the bull and cowboy. In my opinion, the dark-clad cowboy is almost lost against the dark railing in the background. The clown behind them also, I feel, adds to the clutter and makes it hard to distinguish the cowboy up in the air. |

I think you went to the right place, Paris, to capture a charming image of a couple expressing their affection for each other. Comparing the original with your revised version, I believe you have done a perfect job of adjusting the exposure to make it just bright enough. The focus is sharp, especially considering you had to shoot this from a distance. I do agree with Jerry that I believe the image could be stronger if you cropped more tightly to the couple. In fact, I think you could crop up to her left arm and just below his arm around her waist. I don't think you need to show his legs and shoes and the person taking the photo. To me, the activity seems centered on the couple and a tight crop would be all you need to illustrate this. |

I agree with Jerry that you've done an impressive job of mastering a complex series of tasks to create an abstract image. I think everything about this is done well -- the lighting, the sharp focus, the composition, and especially the ability to envision this to begin with. I continue to admire how you and Marti continue to explore new and creative ways to process images. There's not a thing I could suggest to improve this one. |

I think this is a wonderfully composed image, contrasting the sophisticated red high heel shoe with the more rustic hiking and work boot. I think this is the type of photo that I would expect to see displayed in an exhibition. The lighting, I think, was excellent and provided the nice shadows as a "footprint" as well as the glistening sheen on the woman's shoe. I also like the contrast in the colors between the bright red and tan. I don't think this is too vague, abstract, cartoonish or pretentious at all. I see this is a nice, modern image that would look great hanging in an office or even museum. Personally, I don't really try to interpret what I'm seeing -- I just take the image for what it is. |

When I look at this image, I feel as though I am walking along the beach at sunset and watching the rain clouds approach from the distance. The soft, brown colors of the sand, even the brownish tint in the surf, provide this with a warm feeling, and a good contrast with the gray sky overhead. The composition of the pier pointing toward toward the left directed my eyes to the last glow of the sun. I also liked the fact that you included the Flagler Beach Pier sign in the background to help identify the location. I think this was nicely done and showed a fine mastery of merging photos. The focus was excellent, and was sharp from the foreground to the background. I can't think of a thing to improve this one. |
