I like the shapes that the various colors have taken on in the tree. The roof fragment on the upper left and the electrical wires are distracting and could easily be removed with the healing brush. You could try increasing the saturation in the Image>Adjustments dialog to increase the vibrancy you were hoping for. Like Mike, I would encourage you to keep working with this image; it has a lot of potential! |

A lovely image for Springtime Steve. Your garden looks like a wonderful place to play -- even though I know it took a lot of hard work to get to this level of beauty. The variegated tulips are so pretty. I like your addition of the Goth behind the flowers to surprise the viewer. Your blending of all the images is very well accomplished. I agree with Mike about the bright spot top center. And the red tulips at the front have taken on grey areas that don't appear in the beautiful original. Your tiptoeing exercise is top-notch! |

This image is so very interesting Gunter. It gives me a feeling of "good chaos." The broken up arrows going different ways, the multiple shapes and shades, and the (almost) mirror quadrants make it a very nice piece to study at length. It looked like a really fun image to "play" with, so I had a go with it. Some of the edges of the shapes got distorted with the Mirror program and most of them looked good, but the rectangle in the center, not so much. So I cloned out those artifacts. Then I added a vignette to bring more attention to those cool arrows. Lastly I added a sandstone texture in PS to give it a bit more "artsy" look. Forgive me if I've altered it beyond repair -- but I had fun trying to give it a slightly different spin. You had a great vision for creating your abstract from a very nice original. |

What a great bird ballet Frans! Your originals are beautifully shot and your melding of them into one image is superbly accomplished. The colors are so vivid and happy. I love the scallop shape of the tree branch, which also contributes to the lighthearted feel of the image. My only suggestion would be to move at least one of the three birds under the branch either up/down or right/left so they aren't so evenly spaced from each other, which might give them a more random and natural (less staged) composition. That's very much just a minor nitpick. Your piece is "paradise" in motion! |

Super interesting collage Mike. It was a fun exercise trying to identify the finished squares from the originals you gave us. I could only find three; am I right? :-) I love the color you brought out. Using subtle poster edges is a technique that I use often to exaggerate detail and it works beautifully here. This montage would make a very nice art piece to hang in a room with similar decor colors. Well done! |
