Your original image is so pretty that, for me, the sketch is a bit of a let-down. But I certainly appreciate your efforts to try tutorials and new techniques. Always time well spent in my opinion. |

This feels like an explosion of color and detail. You certainly would never recognize the original image. Your title is cute too. Steve's addition of the eye is fun, but I'm glad you resisted putting one in for the reason you mentioned. Well done. |

You did a great job of ramping up the detail and color for lots of drama. The complementary colors of blue and orange always make a pleasing combo. I enjoyed traveling around the image to appreciate it's intricacies. Steve's additions are fun too. |

I think the beautiful leading lines of the trees do a fine job of drawing the viewer towards the more interesting details of the ghostly car. |

A very interesting piece Mike. At first glance, it appears to have four identical quadrants, but I enjoyed studying it and realizing that the left/right are identical, but the top/bottom are not. The center portion makes me think of a tartan plaid design. Ian's suggestion of the gold border works nicely. |

First let me say your original tree image is stunning. Love the mood and colors. I also like your final image, and the use of monochrome was a good idea. Changing the perspective of the trees created a whole different feeling. My only suggestion might be to tone down (or eliminate some of) the white highlights on the head lamps. To my eye, the white of the Ferrari logo and the interesting front grill add a lot to the image, but the less interesting and prominent head lamps draw the viewer's attention away from all the other nifty parts of the image. |

Very charming image Steve. I love the way you combined all the buildings to create a very cozy hamlet. The mist between the first two rows of buildings looks like a bit of fog that has drifted into town, so perhaps another fog bank could be added at the end of the pier since it's so far in the distance. I like the ambience that you've created with the monochromatic center and color tinted edges. Nicely composited! |

Thanks for your assessment Mike. I was hoping the title would do enough to explain the unlikely juxtaposition of the two images, but I think you make a valid point, and I appreciate your candor. |

Thank you for your comments Gunter. Just wanted to clarify that both images are snapshots that I took while traveling to these locations. |
