Actually Oil Paint is under the Stylize menu, rather than in the Filter Gallery. Wishing you well with getting them back! :-) |

Hi Helen. How lovely to hear from you; thank you for your kind comments. Craquelure is in PS Filter Gallery > Texture. I don't use it very often, but it seemed to fit this piece. |

Nicely done Candy. I like the distressed texture you applied to tie everything together. The fish almost appear to be talking to each other. Fun. |

Thank you so much Mike. I'm not much of an "artist" in the sense you mean. I wouldn't be able to draw or paint a landscape or still life. The app I used to draw the heart really did most of the work. I love to fiddle around in PS whether I'm editing a photo or something like this, in order to see where it takes me. But I have a lot of throw away images that are "not very good" either. |

Ah, yes, I see that now. The artist perhaps wanted us to see that the 'butter' was indeed yellow and make us be more accepting of it! Like you, I think I'll stick with real butter though. :) |

You've generated a fun piece of folk art, Mike. I like the way it appears that your wife is looking at the pun line. You did a great job of getting rid of the red lettering reflection. I'm a little confused as to what the black areas are -- was the poster paper torn and a black background is showing through? |

I am a big fan of photographing common objects, and you've captured a very promising bit of street art here Steve. Sometimes getting up close and simplifying the image down to the main subject works well, which I think would enhance this piece. The numbers, arrows, and twisty chain link fence are what are the most charming to my eye, so I cropped down to make them dominant, which eliminated the many other elements (like the plastic tie strips) that made the image seem unnecessarily cluttered to me. I love the multi-colored filter effects you applied. They ramp up the "fun" factor of the image considerably. |

This lighthouse is only a few miles from where I live, so I recognize the scene very well. You did a great job of placing the sun behind the trees, Frans. Your time spent learning PS was well placed. I really like the light details you added to the top beam and side windows of the lighthouse. The pole to the right of the person is a bit distracting to my eye and doesn't really contribute to the composition, so I might suggest cloning it out of the scene. Your image makes me want to go revisit this local landmark. Thanks for the memories! |

Very nice image Gunter. It looked like an abstract when I first saw it, but then it took on the appearance of an aerial shot of craggy hills in sunlight and shadow. My only suggestion would be to perhaps darken the exposure and bump up the contrast to increase the overall drama of the image. The texture details are so nice. Well done. |

Well Steve, this certainly is a bright and happy piece that carries the viewer to someplace with sunshine and daffodils. Your treatments all contribute nicely to a unified look in your final image. I love the gradations of color tone from one side of the image to the other. The fractal lines are a fun twist and give the piece a hand drawn feel. Well conceived and executed! |
