A hearty welcome to Group 34 Steve. I see from your bio that you have a lot of photographic background and experience. Your first image is so unique and fun. I didn't read your description until after I studied the image for a minute or two, and when your eye on the right side emerged from the other elements, it gave me quite a start! I use Difference Blend Mode fairly often (including this month's image) and love the effect it gives to your piece. It's very cool that some parts of the image are recognizable (flowers, eyes, and is that a bell in front?) and some are just abstract shapes with psychedelic colors. Nicely envisioned and edited! |

How nice that you had an opportunity to capture the subject in so many different positions. Your concept works beautifully here. I love the vines in the window -- they look like "natural" curtains. I love the bluish cast of the originals, so the green mid tones aren't as appealing to my eye, but that's just personal preference. You've done a great job of compositing everything together and giving your final image a nice spooky vibe. |

I love minimalist photography, so your original photo is wonderful without any further treatment, in my opinion. But since we're all about creativity here in Group 34, I like how you created something entirely different with your revisions. One of the things I like best about the original is the way the sides of the glass fade out into nothing, so I think your final image would have had more elegance if you had left that part in and not cut them off at such a noticeable angle. The red color with the black background is very striking. Well done. |

This is so well done Candy. The fact that you used mostly one leaf to create so many different looks is amazing. Your color variations are spot-on to create a lovely Autumn wreath. The addition of the berries and bow are icing on the cake! |

Your Goth woman in the front is wonderful; I love the HDR look of her beautifully detailed gown. The treatment of the background worked well to tie all the elements together. The hills in the distance take on a look of a seashore with breaking waves in your final version. The folk dancer seems a tad too saturated in comparison with the other figures, so I reduced it a bit. This is a very well composited and fun image Steve. Makes me want to join the parade! |
