Your garden must be a wonderful place to spend time with your camera after all your hard work of getting it to grow so nicely. Another interesting treatment Steve. Since I made my feelings known about past-prime flowers last month, I won't belabor the point again. I think the lower center flower in Original 1 is a stunner with its lovely color and ed petal, so I would love to see that one in your composite. The tulips with the frayed edges are so cool and the colors so vibrant. The other-worldly background works well here. Nicely done! |

Thank you very much Frans. I think blend modes are one of the most enjoyable ways to experiment in PS. Sometimes it takes awhile and lots of trial and error to get something that works artistically, but it's so satisfying when it happens. |

The fun thing about abstracts is that they're so pliable. I'm glad you enjoyed playing with my image and I like your version. I almost always end up in a square orientation because I post most of my images on Instagram and like everything in my gallery to be consistent. |

When it comes to blend modes, experimentation is the name of the game. You can try many combinations that look terrible, but then all of a sudden one works! The combination of the images themselves also has a big influence on how the blend modes work out, and after doing a few you start to figure out what types of images have possibilities and which ones probably won't work. I think it's relaxing to doodle and experiment with no pressure to "come up with something." |

This is gorgeous Candy. You did all the right things to bring out the best features of the flower and leaves. Isn't it funny how editing sometimes works and sometimes doesn't? I'm glad you kept trying with this one; it's stunning! |

That's fabulous news Georgianne! How amazing that you found such a skilled surgeon and you're now pain free. So happy for you. Maybe you'll think about coming back to the group? Or maybe you're too busy getting out there and doing all the things you haven't been able to do until now. :-) |

I love the graphic nature of this Gunter. The white crisscross lines of the electrical towers and the strong dark verticals of the city are so nice. I also like the way you lightened the lower middle to lead the viewer's eye into the image. I agree with Steve that it would strengthen the image to have something for the eye to settle on once we're led in; perhaps a bright light with rays radiating out in the lower area of one of the buildings? |

Welcome to Group 34 Frans! Your image is very well blended with your multiple bracketed shots. You created much more drama in your final piece. I certainly identify with your experience of trying to capture the feeling of a place you've visited with a photo. It's a true challenge. I look forward to seeing your future creative and/or composite images here! |

Uluru is such an amazing place. The spirit of Aboriginal ancestors and culture is palpable there. You've done a nice job of capturing that. The face is a bit hard to see at first, so I do like Steve's version with the light rays drawing more attention to it. I'm curious, is the overlay image a piece of fabric? Is it Aboriginal too? |

Hi Georgianne, how nice to hear from you! Gosh it's hard to believe your image is an old car window. What a nice abstract. I'm in California so I won't be visiting Georgia anytime soon, but I've been to a few old vehicle sites and never seen anything like your photo. I do have a good time experimenting with PS blend modes because the possibilities are endless when using 2 or 3 images. I do hope you're feeling better these days. We miss you here in Group 34! |
