Oooo, this one is cool too. Similar and yet so different. And I'll miss you during your temporary absence. Wishing you well with all that cancer treatment entails and looking forward to seeing your next image in July. |

A wonderful Spring composition Steve! I love the way daffodils can be mere buds one day and full blown flowers the next. And the fact that they're all from your own garden makes it more special. The blue vase was the perfect selection to complement the yellows and oranges of the flowers. I do like the toned down brightness on the background based on Fran's suggestion. Your image makes me feel uplifted and hopeful. Thank you! :-) |

Super job on this composite Alan. All of your decisions in your work flow worked to produce a convincing piece. The platform is just the right color and brightness to ground everything but not take away from anything. Your shadows are well done. The replaced hands on the wizard were a nice idea. You did a great job of making the fighters appear to be inside the glass. Just one tiny nitpick; the shield of the right knight and the foot of the left knight appear at first glance to be outside of each glass because they're in the dark areas beyond the highlights. I think if you moved each guy away from the wizard just a tad, it would situate them more solidly inside each glass. All in all though, a quirky and fun image full of things for the viewer to create their own story with. Nice execution! |

Very cool image Georgianne! It's very retro with the psychedelic colors and the shapes of the vases. The process sounds like something fun to try. I especially like the texture that's visible where the lights on the tall vase converge. Is that texture from the cloth? Thanks for telling us how to replicate the process. Really creative piece! |

Really cool, fun image Fran! You did a very convincing job with your edit. And the reflection sets the whole scene off so well. I don't think I've ever eaten a lychee, but I might think twice before trying one now! :-) I like your title too. I'm torn between liking the red lid on the jar and feeling like it'd be less distracting if it was unsaturated a bit. So I did a version with a neutral colored lid just to see. Hmmm, I'm still torn. What do you think? I don't feel like an outside stroke is as needed with your image as mine because the viewer knows where your image ends, while mine is less clear. I love the creativity in this image. Nicely conceived and well processed! |

Thank you so much for your kind words Fran. Excellent suggestion about the stroke. The backgroud on IG is white, so it didn't even occur to me to make a change for DD. |

Welcome to Group 34 Gwen! Glad to have you aboard! You certainly have brought out a lot of detail and color with your edit. I like the depth of field that you used to give the image interest. The mirroring of your original upped the complexity nicely and the tree bark texture gave the background some interest without making it too busy. I do like that it's not an exact mirror since the leaves on the mid-right are in front of the gray twig, while those on the left are behind it. My eye seems to be getting distracted by the dark critter or debris sitting on the main group of leaves, so I might have gotten rid of that. A very nice first image. Looking forward to seeing more! |
