This cow has a lot of personality. I absolutely love her furry, fuzzy ears and forehead in your original. To me, that would be what I would want to preserve in the final image. You did a nice job of lightening up the right side of her face. Like Lori, I'd like to see what it looked like up through your step 4, before the artistic filters. I agree with Candy that the background is too similar to the cow and sort of makes her disappear. |

Hearty welcome to our group Fran! Your image is really fun and beautifully composited. The DOF of the egg carton is perfect and the butterflies were captured deftly. You did a great job of making the emerging butterfly look realistically convincing. My only nit-pick would be that the butterfly on the left doesn't have a yellow head like the other two. I realize it's shot from a different angle, but since your intent is to make the viewer see a progression of just one butterfly, it would be a little detail that might add to your concept. Great image! Glad to have you in Group 34. |

Such a charming edit Lori! Giving the castle a larger landscape was a nice choice and you've done an excellent job of merging the two images together. As I studied it, it seemed a bit flat or hazy to me. So I amped up the contrast and saturation a bit. I love the white line at the edge of the water because it looks like the beginning of ice forming or something, so I also dodged it a little in this version. Adding the lights to the windows was a great idea. It draws the eye to the castle and makes it the star of the scene, with a lovely supporting cast. Well done! |

Very cool image Alan. I really like that you used a photo for your elements to be resting on, rather than a gradient fill, as you frequently do. It adds interest to the scene for sure, but my personal preference would be to blur the landscape as it fades into the distance so that the other elements would grab the viewer's attention more. I think making the mask a bit larger so there's more difference between it and the man might work well. Another fine surreal scene by Alan! |

Great image Candy! It's so cool that it generated so many versions by others. I've never worked with a lens ball, but this is inspiring. For what it's worth, I guess my input would be that I'd like to see the ball larger and brighter so it would accentuate the distortion of the straight lines that it provides. Thanks for describing your process; your tenacity paid off nicely! |

Your lovely image certainly does brighten my day! I totally agree with all of the other comments. I especially love the effect of the translucence of the various petals. And the colors are awesome. The transformation from the original to the final is stunning! |

Thanks Lori. On1 is one of my favorite post processing programs; it has filters for doing basic enhancements like detail extraction and tonal fixes, as well as creative filters like textures, HDR, or glow. Lots of fun to play with. |
