An interesting treatment Georgianne. I love the way you softened the background colors and the texture there is a beautiful improvement. The diagonal lines are great and leaving the one blue one was a nice idea. The green center of the pod appeals to me, but I'm not so fond of the brown withered part -- sorry. Just personal preference, but it does capture the essence of Wabi Sabi. Therefore, a job well done! |

The transformation of the mood from your original image to your final is really wonderful. You did an excellent job of blending all your vegetation images into a cohesive complement to the tree house. The mist and rain complete the mood beautifully. I use iColorama once in awhile; did you use it to create the light in the window and door? You've created a great image right out of the gate! Well done! |

You've got a very nice diagonal composition going here, Alan. I really like the repeat of the round moon and the round ball of the monolith. I also like the partial shadow on the lower left. The clones did bother me, just as you intended! The image you used for the ground has a significant amount of chromatic noise which is distracting, so I tried applying a horizontal motion blur to smooth things out. I didn't take the time to eliminate the schmutz around the clones and monolith created by the blur, but obviously that wouldn't happen if the motion blur was applied before the other objects were placed on top of it. Another thought provoking surreal image, Alan. Nicely done! |

This is great Candy! You did a nice job extracting all your various elements. It was a good idea to change the boy's shirt to green to complement HD's limbs. And the red in the flag and the soldier work well together too. I love the soldier being at an angle rather than straight up and down because it makes it seem as though he must be marching around the rim of the dial in time to the ticking of the clock. You definitely made lemonade out of lemons with the challenge of having a landmark engulfed in scaffolding. Well done! |

Thanks Alan. Very kind. Not my favorite image by a long shot but you made me feel a little better about the struggle I went through to get there. |

This is a fun image Denise. I very much like the combination of the simple graphic element of the window and the realism of the birds. Steve did a good job of tidying up a couple of issues. The seagull totally looks like he's peeking out of the window and I like the way you placed his left foot up on the edge of the window rather than putting both of them solidly in the gray area. I might have made the pelican a bit smaller and reduced the opacity a bit so he matched the mistiness of the sky. But overall, an entertaining and imaginative image! |

When I first looked at your image, my thought was of a dog shaking water off after a bath or swim -- don't ask me why! But the feeling of being completely wet from a downpour feels lovely on a day when it's 111 degrees outside! Nice blending of all the elements. I love the way you experimented with your camera equipment and settings! I need to do more of that rather than being in a rut of just taking photos with my iphone. Your image is very COOL(ing)! Nice! |

Thanks Steve, you're very generous with your praise. I'm feeling like I totally stumbled and bumbled my way through this image. Not my usual genre, for sure! :-0 |

Thanks for your kind words Denise. I appreciate your input regarding the door. I actually used a blend mode (maybe Overlay? can't remember) that caused the background to partially show through in an attempt to bridge the spaces of the foreground and background so they wouldn't appear to be two different images. |

Hi Lori -- welcome to Group 34! So glad you're joining us! And thanks for your comments. On1 is one of my favorite editing programs; lots of great filters and presets that are easy to tweak so you get just the look you want. I pretty much only use PS and On1 (and sometimes apps I have on my ipad as I did for this image), but Steve and other group members use many other programs. Again, welcome! :-) |
