Helen, are you using Photoshop CC? If so, it should be available to use. If not, that might be something that's unique to CC. |

Interesting that you use the pen tool to extract images. I think I'd go insane if I had to do that. I usually use the Quick Selection tool (or another of the selection tools) to extract, but that's probably not as precise as the Pen. |

Thanks Steve. All I got from the Pen tool was frustration, and it never came together for me, but perhaps I wasn't patient enough. I shot the match on a white background so it would be easier to extract it. Then I just added the black background behind it in PS. I think maybe I saved it at that point so then the white background was gone. |

I think your concept is a unique idea, but I agree with Steve that the cloud is overwhelming the images. It's a really beautiful cloud so I think you made a good choice there. Perhaps if about three of your images were considerably larger in relation to the cloud and tucked into and around the various poofs of it, the viewer would be more likely to get your concept. |

Great image Denise! I love the expression on the face of the little girl with the goggles, and her body is just as cute as her face. Amelia is charming and I think you placed her at the perfect spot in the scene. Changing it to monochrome was a great idea. I really like that the school room is so retro looking with the old fashioned desks, and the mono treatment enhances them even more. A fun, chuckle-inducing image for sure. Congrats on the awards! Well deserved! |

Your discarded engine is very Steampunky Georgianne! I love it. The colors on the original engine seem very saturated and a bit unnatural, but they somehow seem to work better with the texture treatment that you applied in your final image. To my eye, the flowers' bright colors and size overwhelm the cool funky engine. And since I couldn't resist playing with something so fun and Steampunky, I toned down the saturation of the flowers, increased the size of the engine, and applied a Glow and Vignette in On1. My selection technique of the engine was done quickly and not precisely, so please forgive the bad cut-out lines and such. I applaud you for valuing the potential of the discarded engine in the grass. |

The mood of this image is really nice Alan. I love that you used images from many places and combined them into a whole new location. Everything seems to work here. Since there is so much sky, it would seem off balance to me, were it not for that bit of bright eye-catching pink to give it some importance and weight. Your treatments of the man and the house are just right. Nicely conceived and processed! |

This is a wonderful image Candy. Your treatment of the background to blur and darken it worked nicely. You did a great job of extracting the frog from Original 2 and placing it in the Bittern's beak. Both the bird and frog are in nice focus and the light on the bird's head and neck is lovely. Well done! |

Since so many in our group have had trouble with crashed hard drives and systems, I'm nervous that my turn is coming! I've promised myself to make an extra backup of my images from the past few months. Your re-visit to your favorite beach paid off nicely and your sphere work turned out great. My only nit-pick would be that the bright rock in the lower left corner (directly across from the bottom of the sphere) might be better cloned out so the viewer's eye isn't distracted by it. Also, I kind of like the post from Original 2 where you can see more of the nice light and shadow on it. I do wish you well with your quest to build up your library again! |

Thanks Denise. I certainly don't mind if you experiment with this image concept. I'd love to see what you come up with! |
