Thanks Georgianne; I appreciate your input. I considered making it more of a square image rather than horizontal, so if I did that I would definitely leave the birds out. I think maybe if I had reduced the opacity of the birds they would have been less distracting. |

Your Granddaughters are both lovely and I think your different treatments highlight their different personalities. I'm not seeing much difference between the left version and the right version. Maybe if one of them had a white vignette it would distinguish them from each other and have a common thread with Original 1. I like the center version; your hand coloring is a nice touch. She has such beautiful eyes, I think it might look nice to color them similarly. A nice gift that will be treasured always, I'm sure. |

I enjoyed reading your account of how you arrived at the final image. All of the elements work nicely together and I think the size of the truck is just right. The lightning and rain enhance the mood and destruction theme. The flame coming out of the gun doesn't quite look like a flame to me, but I'm not sure that matters. I've used the PS filter to create flames a couple of times and it's quite versatile (Filter>Render>Flame), but it does take a bit of experimentation at first. This is a fun image; nicely composited! |

I too love old buildings. This one has a lot of character. I agree that your rust texture adds to the "old" look of the building, but I think reducing the opacity of the rust in the sky area would work well. Your technique of lightening up the far end of the buildings was a great idea. They now contribute much more to the scene. Nicely processed! |

Once again you've presented a surreal image that causes me to stop and think, and then try to imagine what your mind was thinking when you created it. Your collection of riders is varied and interesting. I especially like the astronaut starting to float off into space -- maybe he's heading for the moon? The man at the extreme right makes me uncomfortable since he's not all there, but I know from your comments in previous months that that's entirely intentional, to give a sense of unease or uncertainty, so the viewer becomes more engaged by noticing those types of details. My only suggestion would be to perhaps reduce the opacity of the shadows a bit; they seem too strong for moonlight and therefore,in my opinion, are a tad distracting. I like the whimsy of this very much. Well done! |

Your edits of the background rocks work well, Candy. I like the addition of the two smaller foreground bergs to give a grouping of three and you placed them nicely. The shadows on the berg in Original 1 seem more realistic and subtle than the final -- was that what the On1 Darker in Tone step did? If so, I think I might have skipped that step. Adding the more interesting sky was a good idea. That cloud in Original 2 is amazing. Your final is very nicely composed and imagined! |

Fun image Steve! And such a unique "music" related band composition for competing with. The Topaz abstract process rendered the background as a nicely broken up backdrop to make the tourists dissipate. The radial blur works great to bring focus and liveliness to the scene. Your final radial blur is much more interesting and colorful than the one in Original 3. I noticed one nit-pick: the woman on the right seems to have a light halo on the edges of her pants from the creation of the mask. I think it's just noticeable there because the background is darker in that area. I used to play the accordion when I was a child, so this image brought back memories of playing in an all-accordion band for several years. We didn't wear such interesting make-up and costumes, however! Well done! |

Thanks Steve. Most certainly I can move over! The more the merrier! And I just baked some gingerbread cookies too so we all have something sweet to go with your brandy. :-) |
