This is fun Helen. Love the colors. Your treatment took it to a completely different level. Nicely processed. |

This is GREAT Denise! Every element works well and contributes to the fantasy of the whole composition. You've done a wonderful job with the shadows and textures. The bridge looks like it was just made for Humpty Dumpty. How did you do the magical wisp above the book? It adds a lot to the scene. Nice! |

Georgianne, I LOVE your original image. The colors and patterns in the large area of water and on the dock are wonderful. The silhouetted ducks are a great focal point. And the overall mood of the photo is very calming. That being said, your experimentation accomplishes your goal of highlighting the main shapes. I might have cropped the final result on the top and left a bit to reduce the plain white areas, but that's just personal preference. Nice experimentation technique! |

Nothing wrong with being partial to the golden rectangle for sure. The upper portion is just so empty. Perhaps that void could be put to use by placing the flags behind the mayor in a more obvious perspective triangle from the center-top; i.e. tiny at the top and becoming largest on each side at the bottom. Or maybe the Washington Monument and a cool sky shot in that area? Just a thought. |

I applaud your creation of a patriotic image for the month of July and I like that you placed the mayor in a spotlight to accentuate him. I agree with Steve regarding his shadow though. The ghosts seem to work pretty well at 20% opacity and seem to be floating above your background, which I guess works for ghosts. The flags, however, seem to be floating too, and since they're at 100% opacity, need to be grounded somehow with shadows or a few leaves of grass or something to bring them down to earth. I also agree with Steve about the empty upper portion and would crop down closer to the flags. How charming that your town's mayor is walking in the parade. Small town America is a wonderful part of our posterity. |

You've done a wonderful job of evening out the light and shadows in her face. Her eyes are much improved as well. To my eye, her face should be a larger proportion of the total image and the flower should be smaller in comparison. Or perhaps cropping the right side and bottom a bit to eliminate some of the less interesting parts of the flower would work. Your granddaughter is lovely; nicely photographed and processed, Candy. |

Another chilling image, Steve. It really captures the feeling of a nasty headache and you've done a fantastic job of integrating the beasties inside her head. I especially like how you placed the one with the most expressive and angry mouth directly in line with her mouth. In my opinion you need two splits rather than just one, but I do agree with Denise that the left split might benefit from narrowing it a bit on her forehead. Lots of work in this one; well done! |
