34 Dec 18 Comment This is a really fun image Denise. It's funny how different people view certain aspects of images. To my mind, the curve of the water contributes to the fantasy theme, so I quite like it that way. I think your background is fine as it is, but it might be fun to add a Mad Hatter style chair behind Alice too. The one here is a really low res one off the web and I didn't take much time putting it in. It fills in the space behind her but it does make the image more busy. I like your version very much. How nice to have a granddaughter to pose for you! Dec 16th
34 Dec 18 Comment I can't tell you how many times I've taken pictures of magnolia blossoms because I absolutely love them. This is beautiful, Georgianne. My favorite part is the detail in the center pod, so I played with your image a bit to zoom in on just that part. I cropped of course, and in On1 I added dynamic contrast, strong big softy vignette and radiance glow. Dec 9th
34 Dec 18 Comment I agree with Denise and Steve on the merits of your image, Candy. If someone pressed me to be nit-picky, I'd suggest sharpening his eye a bit (and maybe adding a catch light) and removing the ID band on his leg (just to eliminate the "hand of man" on an otherwise beautifully natural image). But I love your treatments and the way you enhanced it to a wonderful level. Dec 9th
34 Dec 18 Comment I like your motley crew, Steve! Your background image is great and you did a nice job of placing the individual members in relation to each other. I do agree about the shadows. I use a separate layer for shadows too. Sometimes it takes a couple of stabs to work out the kinks. It might also be fun to add a few blades of grass in front of or around some of the feet just to help sell the composite? What fun to have all these steampunk characters to photograph. You created an excellent welcoming committee! Dec 8th
