When I first saw your image Helen, I thought it'd be fun to use a solarization filter on it. So I did that in Nik and then took it into On1 for Glow (Radiance Glow) and Texture (Cracked Earth). I like the diagonal lines you used and you did a very nice job of capturing the prism colors. I have a similar thing happen through my front door window and sometimes there are huge prism effects on my walls, but when I take photos of them, they lose something in "translation." You captured the light very well and created a nice abstract. |

Love this image, Georgianne! You did a great job of incorporating the water and splashes -- not an easy thing to do. You also did a great job balancing out the shadows in the lower part of the cat and brightening the eyes. If I was going to find something to nitpick about, it would be to add just a bit more sky at the top so that the mast of the boat had a tad more breathing room. I'm curious... when you started to work on this, did you have the end result clearly in mind, or did it evolve as you went? Extremely well done! |

This is great Phil. I really admire photographers like you who spend the time, effort, and expertise to capture eclipse events. I love the way the color of the moon changes as it moves across the sky. I agree with Candy that making it larger might have worked well, since you were doing a composite anyway. You did a great job of incorporating the village and kept just the right amount of light in the foreground, I think. Beautifully done! |

Very nice image Candy. I especially like the results of your treatments on the water -- it's gorgeous and calming. Your crop greatly improved the importance of the mother and child, but I might have opted for even a bit more off the top plain part of the water and lower part of the sand. The people have just the right amount of detail, in my view. I love the glow filter you used. Gives it an idyllic feel -- wish I was there! |

This is a great image Steve. And you did a super job of combining the two versions. The bouzouki is a beautiful instrument; I love the detail of the black/white area in contrast with the wood area. Having one hand blurred provides a nice feeling of movement. I also like that you blurred the background beyond your stationary hand's knuckles. That brings the viewer's eye right into the important part of the scene. It's a very creative piece and fits well in the category of Fine Art. Nicely done! |

Thanks Steve. You're absolutely right about the stairs. I had a terrible time getting the perspective and warp tools to work like I wanted them to on the upper portion. It was also complicated by the center rail, so Candy's suggestion to eliminate it would probably have simplified things. Good suggestions! |
