34 Aug 18 Comment I really like the black and white treatment of this too, Christine. Good call on getting rid of the person in the background. Your gentle giant looked like a cool guy to play round with a bit. So in PS I lightened up around his eye area a bit, added a couple brighter catch lights in his eyeballs, and cloned out the white rope around his face. I also blurred the background a tad. You did a great job of zooming in on his face and keeping the detail of the light hair on his nose. Nicely done. Aug 10th
34 Aug 18 Comment Wow, how in the world did you keep track of your steps? Most of the time when I'm working on a photo, I change my mind so many times in the process, there's no way I can re-create my actions. I very much like the high key treatment, although it did blow out some of the details in her hair. You did a great job of bringing the details in her eyes out of the shadows. I love the fact that you applied color only to her eyes; and since your subject is looking directly at the camera, it makes your image compelling. You did a great job shaping and molding the tattoos to the contours of her face. I might have made the lighter one a bit darker and the darker one a bit lighter, so there was less difference between the two, but that's just personal preference. Unique and fun image! Aug 10th
34 Aug 18 Comment Great image, Phil. I like your title. I think it fits really well with the movement of the pianist and with the color of the piano keys being the opposite of what we usually see. Viewing the image made me feel disoriented -- but in a good way, because I could almost hear the lively (frenzied) music your subject was playing. Altered reality for sure! Well done. Aug 6th
34 Aug 18 Comment Very nice image, Candy. I very much like the effects you've added to give it the lovely painterly look. It did seem to me that the filters also caused the trees to become flattened, so I took the Dodge tool in PS to the trunks of the trees to give them a bit more roundness and bring them out of the shadows. While we're all sweltering in the summer heat, this brings a cool respite. Wish I were there! Aug 6th
34 Aug 18 Comment Fun indeed, Steve! You've done a wonderful job of combining all the elements into a cohesive whole. All of your reflections are spot on. I especially like the effect the Topaz Texture had on the black areas of the left and right bodyguards -- very cool. The group is a very daunting trio, for sure. Nicely executed! Aug 6th
