The vibrancy of the colors is wonderful. A trip to the grocery store can yield results in more ways than one! Nicely conceived. |

The sepia tone is perfect for this image. Love the texture in the roof of the barn. The symbolism of a tobacco barn with a cemetery next to it is very apt. Nice job of adding the fog; that really adds to the mood of the scene. I find myself wondering what's in the shadows under the roof. |

Very nice image. Brings Spring to mind. I especially like the texture you applied to the background. |

This is a great transformation, Phil. The texture is really nice, especially on the very bottom of the front leaf. I love the glowing effect; it looks like you did some really unique lighting. How cool that it was the result of a Curves Adjustment layer. Well done! |

This looks like a really fun thing to try! Thanks for the tutorial, Christine. I'm almost afraid to try it for fear I'll end up playing longer than I have time for. Your image and Steve's are so different from each other. I'm impressed that you said you stumbled across it. Were you just exploring and trying different new things? I tend to just use the same tools and techniques that are familiar to me, but you've given me inspiration to look for something new. Thanks! Your end product is great! |

No worries -- thanks for trying! I just did some online reading. Seems like a lot of people have the same problem and there are many suggested solutions. I tried two or three that didn't work (deleting the old plug in file and copying from an earlier version, etc). The one that DID work was to go into Nik preferences and select the option to apply the filter to the CURRENT layer rather than CREATING a new layer. Looks like that might be the winner. At least it didn't crash PS upon exit from Nik, so maybe I'm good to go. Didn't have time to try it on a lot of photos yet. Fingers crossed. |

Thanks Steve. Love your image! The musical elements really add to the story and say a lot about you, knowing it's a self image. You say you did it many years ago, so you've been doing composites for quite awhile. No wonder you/re so good at it!
In my image, I imagined it being the final journey, but I like that it's open to the viewer's interpretation. |

This is lots of fun Steve. You did a great job of making all the elements work together. Your technique of grouping similar components was a great idea. The Goths are a nice addition to the fantasy scene. They seem a bit too far away to me, but that's just personal taste. The mushroom street lamps are very well done and greatly contribute to the overall perspective as they recede into the distance. Everything you did made the composite fantastical but believable too. Nicely done!
You mentioned that you used Nik Viveza. I've been having trouble with it crashing every time I use it the way I always have and I thought maybe the program was fading into oblivion. Or maybe there's an upgrade I just haven't had time to look into. Suggestions? |
