It's definitely personal preference as to whether symmetrical composition feels better than asymmetrical composition. And the beauty is that symmetrical composition is just as "correct" as asymmetrical, so I hope you continue to do what seems most pleasing to you. |

This is a fun composite. You did a good job of making Jiminy appear to be in the grass, but for me I would have liked for his eye to be more visible and detailed. The monochrome treatment works well for the image, but I agree with Phil's comment about the canvas texture. I think you did extremely well having a hurricane bearing down on you. Sending good thoughts for getting back to normalcy. |

I agree with all of the previous comments, especially moving the lighthouse off center. You did a great job of bringing out the detail and color in the lighthouse reflection. |

Great capture, Phil! And how cool that the eclipse came to you. I like your spiral based arrangement -- very unique. The central image with the corona just beautiful. Photographing an eclipse is really technically challenging. Nicely executed! |

Wow, great job Candy! Your ability to make a very plain Jane daytime photo look like a moody, dramatic nighttime shot is very impressive. I love the addition of the rocks in the foreground. The punched up color is really nice. I love Nik's lighten/darken filter; it really adds a lot of drama in many types of shots. I might have cloned out the red line to the left of the boat and toned down the bright white specks on the left side of where the water meets the rocks. You've created a most lovely image! |

This is a fun image, Steve. Love your title! All of the effects you used appeal to my eye. The steam roller being monochrome with the background in color works nicely. I didn't notice the smoke coming from the stack until I read your description, so I tried a version with the smoke dodged a bit. While I was at it, I also added a shadow under the steamer. I like the motion blur you added to the wheels to bring in movement. It seemed to me that the flat surfaces of the wheels would show movement also, so I added a bit there too. I love the old fashioned, muted colors you gave your final composition. Well done! |
