21 Apr 17 Comment I really like this composition: its simplicity, the detail and contrast and sharpness of the hero, the background color and the edge treatment. I can see how this would sell well. Excellent work. Apr 24th

21 Apr 17 Comment Alan, I admire you care for detail in this work and share your appreciation of surrealism. This particular assemblage, however, does not work for me the way your last one did. The desert background makes all the foreground elements anomalies--good--but they feel simply as superposed, not as incongruous but somehow connected emergences (I am thinking of de Chirico as an example). What's lacking for me is a sense of suggestive mystery. Apr 21st
21 Apr 17 Comment John, I enjoyed looking at this composition closely. I noticed the lack of detail in the ghost's face--good--and the seeming tangle of the two front riders' arms and the absence of the ghost's bicycle's hind wheel. These slight anomalies made the total more intriguing and appropriate to the title. I wouldn't want anything changed--what do we KNOW about ghosts anyway? Apr 21st
21 Apr 17 Comment Barrie, the placement of the subject does not please me because it leaves the larger portion of the image empty. I like the background and the grain, but what purpose does the stuff on the BR edge serve? And I don't see the ghostliness of the image the title insists on. Apr 21st
21 Apr 17 Comment Brian, I like the oil paint effect on the face and the idea of the swirl to suggest the disturbance of a headache, but the location of the swirl (too low on the head) and the distinctness of the white lines do not quite work for me so that the feeling of pain is absent. I don't know what I would do to suggest that pain. Apr 21st
21 Apr 17 Comment I really like this blurred image (my term for them "wash"). Camera movement and the movement of the subject itself have resulted in an intriguingly mysterious image with enough resolution in the center to give the subject some definition. Good thing you didn't delete this. Apr 21st
