Thank you Mark and Andrew. I did not know about the principal about part of an image but in thinking back on other images I have seen and cropped, I think I have been using it. Gives me more to consciously think about when shooting and cropping. Thanks again. |

At first glance I just saw a bunch of coins. Without knowing the assignment I was pulled in by the arch of the stacked coins and then focused down on the Larger. As you can tell I like focus stacking but in this case I must agree with Andrew that the mild out of focus coins do add rather than detract . They help focusing on what I would think is the main subject. The tension is also there due to wondering what is keeping the stack from falling. I agree about background cloth etc, but it would depend on possible competing textures or the plain non textured background. Mild vignetting may draw one in even more. The more I look the more interesting ! |

Beautiful symmetrical architectural view. Focus DOF and color all on. I agree with the above statements about possible crops. As Lane said with or without the bottom stairs it is not "a deal breaker'.Love it and again everybody seems to have covered all I may have to say and more already. Niice ! |

At first just looking it was hard to see a subject but I think the edits that move the rock up to the upper right does a great deal to change that. It is interesting because it makes a seasonal statement. Interesting.. |

Beautiful lines, color and composition. Also very interesting. The buildings and lines frame the people. I do think Linda's edit does bring you in even more. Love it. |

Thanks Lane. I have a bunch - 3-4 abstracts of this also, but thought the Flower without abstraction was better in the group. I think abstracts are very subjective. Thanks for you input. |

Linda, I like the boats, sea gulls and fog but thought photoshops sky replacement might make it mor dramatic. with all that is going on it is not perfect, for sure but. |

Hi Andrew. Love the pose and image. Quite a story. I thought of a couple of things only that I thought could make it better. If the lighting were better the eyes may have popped more. I cloned one eye on the other, widened them with liquify and lightened them. also I thought the very black shadow in back with its contrast draws the eye away so I lightened it. I agree with Linda about the crop so the larger, and I assume male Chimp's face, may be better at the 1/3 points. Also I agree about the rock. You must be very patient to catch this great pose and composition. What a catch. |

I can't help it. Just glancing briefly at the image and your description, what came to me is that this is surely a full service building, everything from Jail to morgue and everything in between. I will look more later of course. Happy N.Y. |
