The lighting seems different to me also but the warmer tones on the girl and the dog seem fortuitus. A very soulful image. I great shot but I also found the log a distraction. I tried to imagine how to take it out or crop but both would present problems- painting in a gym shoe or cutting off her feet. I would not have guessed that you could have removed the stick without distracting the woman and dog, but with it gone it would be a perfectly framable piece of art-in my opinion. as it is, it is a wonderful warm character study. |

Beautiful landscape and you got it all. The mountains, snow, fall colors and reflections. I am not sure how you figured where to focus for a great DOF but with the f8 and speed it all came out very sharp. At 40 mm you did a nice job with hand held although even without image stabilization theoretically it could have been shot as slowly as 1/40 sec. I would probably not have been as steady even at 1/125th sec. Not sure about rule of thirds that Linda mentioned but the symmetry seems best either way to describe this composition. Both ways look fine. I like your landscape a lot. |

Great action shot and perfect for B & W. I love the Silhouette as mentioned by Andrew and initially thought the water droplets were noise before realizing also that it is water, and a nice part of the action. I did not initially notice the horizon that Bruce mentioned but notice it now. It is a great action shot, and if you could have planned it, I am not sure where the horizon and man could be better placed. I never notice those placements while following the flow of the action. Very interesting and drawing image. |

Bruce as is already mentioned, great catch literally. In sunlight like this it is almost impossible to bring out the very white areas but I tried anyway with a bunch of stuff and think there may be a little more detail on the two brightest areas. It is a great picture the way it is anyway but I think the crop and vignetting magnifies the main images. You ar a patient man to get such a great shot. |

I also think the monochrome lends itself to a story including shades of emotion. Black white and grey seem to relay that better. The detail is perfect, but the way her head is held in the statue and shadow seems to suggest certain emotions and even moving back and forth between the two, a movement of emotional states. Lovely image ! |

With this focus and composition in mind, if I wanted the pond as more of a focal point I would want to move the pond closer to the upper third. What do you think Bruce ? |

Thanks. Somehow it is fixed focus. This is with Topaz Sharpen A1 and focus magic while editing. Gigapixel also. Friends are wondering why they got new cameras with high pixel counts and quick focus. These programs fill in the gap with math alogrythms. Time will tell if they are comparable. Thank you Mark. |

As a landscape I think your version has better leading lines. It is hard for me to be objective about cutting out the person, because I had a mind set about the perspective. Certainly this looks clearer cleaner and does make the pond a good focus. I may try lessening the sky.
Thanks Bruce

Thank you Andrew. The background is even harder. Although there are 1-2X magnification settings, they are digital. Also you can move the gimbal camera up and down as well as turn the drone, different than shooting from a building or so. It is a challenge. |

Thanks. I picked this one because the people are following a particular path. I thought that may lead the eye down their paths. It is hard to see the back ones though. Just getting used to arial compositions. |

interesting contrasts and tones. I do agree, but I also like the green lines in color and brown tones in the trees. It looks a little too saturated in my posting though.I will have to check my original. Just recalibrated my screen. |
