Several months ago the PSA Journal had an article by Rad Drew about using an iPhone for IR. It tells what you need and how to take a shot. I believe PSA has a way to see old issues so suggest starting there. On my last trip I took all my camera gear but only used my iPhone 14 ProMax for everything.
Also look into SnapSeed to put on your iPhone as it is a way to do a myriad of adjustments to your picture. It's a "small" Photoshop.

I have never been enthusiastic about photographing people in IR. Your image might be the exception as the child has such a sweet expression. The sepia tone does make it so much better than a straight print. |

You asked if it should be darker. My answer is yes and at the same time experiment with adding contrast to add "snap" to the scene. (A well known photographer who has lectured at PSA conferences recommends always adding 35 of contrast to make a scene stand out.) This scene is well worth playing with. |

I like the "soft' quality of the scene. My only suggestion is to crop the left to eliminate the building as it competes for attention. The one on the right is fine as it is small and not an intrusion. |

You have a very good image but the background needs to be darkened to make the web stand out. Careful burning is needed unless you can select the background and use levels or curves. |

There is a lot of potential here to make the image stand out and Lauren wrote it. There isn't anything that I can add. |
