Yes, we do need to experiment but the proof should be in the results. For you, was the experiment successful? For me I looked at the picture before I read yout comments and my initial reaction was There should be some detail in all that white area. Enough said, the composition is fine but detail is needed in the white petals. |

I have to admit that a pictures should be able to stand alone without need a description. Without reading your comments one would wonder the reasoning for the plaques with the statue behind. I believe in honoring people so the statue alone is quite stark and memorable. You having been there has a much stronger attachment to the area than I. I will say that is is nice to see something very different occasionally. |

The winding stream is what keeps the scene together. You see it in the foreground then find it in the midground and wonder Where is it going? There is a lot of foliage that can pull the interest away from the stream so why not crop off the entire sky area as it would eliminate some of the foliage. |

I am sure that the scene was beautiful when you came upon it. Unfortunately, I find it too busy with all the shadows on the trail and the dark limbs of all the trees both going in different directions. There is no center of interest to drawer the viewer into the scene and as much as I looked at it I can't find one area that could be emphasized as a center on interest. |
