It's a different closeup by shooting down and having a limited depth of field. Like Chuck's I wonder if a conventional b/w would be different from the IR one. While I am more a dog lover your picture makes me want to reach out and scratch Stevie Pay behind the ears (dogs like this but to cats?). |

What makes the picture interesting are the occasional lights throughout both buildings and the one bright window light at the top (was this the luxury suite?). I do like the color but wonder if the small building at the base detracts from the overall effect. Perhaps if it was subdued a bit it would not compete for attention from the random lights in the buildings. |

This is a great study of lines and textures. There is one area of the tree trunk that is well lit and shows the beautiful textures of the bark. It pulls the viewer into the scene then the branch leads the viewer to the window with the bars that define another shape. Lastly, the eye goes to the door whose shape is quite regular. We go from right to left instead of the usual left to right so wondered if you reversed the image would it make a difference? |

Welcome to the group and hope that you will enjoy the images that we all have been making. Your image is a really nice b/w of the bird especially since both neck and background are black but you have good separation so one does not blend into the other. If you are a "birder" then you can tell the difference between a conventional b/w and an IR rendition. But to me I can't and without your info I'd say this was a color shot converted to b/w. |
