This is beautiful as the colors are soft and very pleasant. This is a case where a "straight on" shot is perfect as the opening in the barn and quilt design are important. Very nice composition and execution. You have a good way of using colors and making them important but not so dominate that they stand out and detract from the subject matter. The quilt design on the barn is interesting and probably has a story. Where I do a lot of photography in northern California there is one farm town where many of the barns have a different quilt pattern. There they are to honor a recently deceased woman who was an outstanding quilter. Other areas, like in Pennsylvania, the quilts are for good luck. |

I do agree that the original has its appeal but that appeal would probably be limited to those who know the colors from infrared. The b/w is a strong subject so would be accepted more readily. My only suggestion is to experiment with adding more contrast to have the blacks stand out. A photographer I know, who does absolutely beautiful b/w, recommends in converting a color to b/w to go to Brightness and Contrast and add 35 to the contrast. I've tried it and it does make a difference. |

Everything is in the right place. It is a very tranquil scene and relaxing to look at it. Other than the color of the rocks in the foreground which need to be changed I don't have any suggestions. |

This reminds me of a shot I took on an Oregon beach when a couple walked into it. I took it anyway and it has been very successful in competitions. There is beautiful balance between the couple and the rocks and wondered if some of the foreground could be eliminated. But the more I looked at the entire scene the more I agree with your format as showing so much foreground and sky revels the vastness of the area which makes the couple and rocks stand out. |

WOW what a perfect setting! The stone bridge itself is a major point of interest but to have the building in the background gives the viewer a lot to look at and neither is so dominate that it overshadows the other. IR, and your treatment of it, does this beautifully as it makes the two man mane structures stand out against the foliage. |

I like the mailboxes in the picture as they break up the balanced composition. The entire scene is a pleasant one even without an object on the road! The foreground looks a bit soft but maybe that is due to the Forest Glow. I have used HDR frequently but never with IR so will give it a try as your results are very good. |
