What immediately grabs my attention is the "glow" from the corn and tomato as it makes the scene come alive. So many table top pictures that I have seen or judged do not have a sparkle and are nothing more than objects on a table casually lit by either a floodlight or window light. Your treatment really made this one stand out. it is strong enough that it just might do well in competition. |

There is little for me to say as this image has everything working for it. Where you stood gave you the opportunity to photograph the most interesting part of the building without the surrounding foliage blocking the view. The wispy (is that a real word?) clouds are a good contrast to the stone building. I also appreciate the tonality throughout without any harsh blacks or whites. This is really outstanding. |

If you want to convey a feeling of desolation this does it with an empty space, a single railroad track coming from some place and going to another place. And to top it off a dead tree. The tree attracts attention because of the bright white really dead tree next to it. Looking at the scene I wonder, "Is the track used?" or "Will I see a train if I wait long enough?" It is a strong picture as it evokes a lot of questions which makes it more interesting to look at. I really like it. |

There is so much detail in this church that I wish you had shown the entire front. You could also get a lot of interesting shapes by photographing small areas rather than trying to show the entire building. The cluster of very bright leaves detracts plus it blocks some of the building. Could you shoot the front from a different angle to eliminate the leaves? |

You caught the butterfly quite well. Of the two original images, I like No. 2 as there is more space around the butterfly. You could crop off a lot on the left side and some off the bottom which would emphasize the butterfly more. |
