Your use of color for this is great. It makes the building stand out and everything else secondary. I envy you and your use of CLiR (see my comments about it in the notes for Helen's picture.) The composition of the scene is perfect with the house being the center of interest surrounded by smaller buildings at just the right distance so as not to infringe on the main interest point. For me the fence in the foreground is very important and if I was there I"d try to include the full height of the fence. Nevertheless, where you held the camera was more important than showing the entire fence. |

Is this real? It has everything, beautiful clouds in the sky, a foreground interest with the body of water, a stately mansion and animals grazing in the field. If there were oak trees it wold be a scene from Gone with the Wind and Scarlett would be sipping mint juleps on the porch! I like it as it is.
You ask if anyone had problems with CLiR. When I was using Windows 7 it worked well but converting to Windows 10 in order to use the latest Photoshop the full CLiR panel would not show. Tonee's suggestions to make it fit didn't work as I only got a portion of the panel so for me it is worthless. |

I do like your sparing use of colors in this image as the strength of this scene is the gazebo so the off color of the sky doesn't bother me plus there isn't that much sky to look at. The two colors used in the gazebo are soft and subdued. It is a very tranquil scene and I like it very much. My only suggestion is to clone out the shadow in the lower right corner. |

I like the extreme close up as the interest is more in the center of the flower than the surrounding petals yet the petal are important to show even partially. Through the steps that you took the final has texture throughout with a nice balance of contrast. |

Another gem. The day was perfect as the background is soft so doesn't compete with the rugged stone building and fence. I especially like the closeup of the fence that shows just how irregular stones are used to make both a fence and building. An interesting subject rendered beautifully. |

I'm impressed with all the steps that you took to reach the image that you presented. The result is beautiful as the colors work with each other and none "screams" for attention. It is pastoral and inviting. Which do I like? I was a confirmed black and white photographer for many years. Color only appealed when I was traveling and didn't want to carry my b/w equipment. I keep looking at the b/w version and if I had to choose which to hang on my wall, I would select the b/w, not that I don't like the color but most of what is handling in my home are b/w images. |
