I'm reviewing these images a few days after Easter so the broken egg is appropriate! Since the scene is a bit unusual the coloring is fine as are the other steps that you followed. The tree and egg are so bizarre the it makes the viewer stop and think ("It must be one huge bird in that three!") So with apologies to Dr. Seuss I wrote: I saw a big bird in the tree. It was so big it worried me. I'm glad that I was not there, when the egg came down through the air. As it hit the ground with a mighty WHAM, what fell out was green eggs and ham. |

So many of the English town names are unusual and must have a meaning behind them. Does Shipping Brow have something to do with shipping? I am glad to see a person in the scene as it is something to focus on whereas everything else is static. All the steps that you took did result in a good, clean, scene. My only question is a blue sky necessary? As I look at the scene the main interest are the buildings and the person so much of the sky could be cropped out and rendered as black and white. |

I do like this one. You did a nice job removing the far end of the fence so the eye is led right to the tree, which is magnificent. The sky is interesting and wondered if that was the way it was or did you create the unusual cloud formations? Regardless, it is a nice part of the scene, interesting but not so much that it detracts from the fence and tree. |

The waterfall is certainly worth photographing but I like including the stone building. It makes it more than "just another waterfall." They are so different, the flowing water and the rock-hard structure that it is the difference that appeals. The sun lit edges of the foliage makes for an opposite vignette whereas one thinks of a vignette as darker. My only suggestion is to slightly darken the bright edges so the eye is not drawn to that bright area. |

It's a grand old building with lots of character in the architecture. You rendered it is such a way that it does make me stop and look. A conventional photo probably wouldn't. As I looked at the image I wondered if you could zero in on small sections such as the lamp and stairs only. One area that I "experimented" with had the left lamppost, the stairs, and included most of the pillar next to the left opening and the top just above the ornate decoration. Just isolating a small area and following the steps that you used could make for an interesting scene/. |
