This is a wonderful subject and you certainly did a great job removing the dormers. My only negative comment is there is too much ivy as it detracts from the gate house and adjoining wall. I'd like to keep the scene horizontal so you could remove almost half of the ivy and crop some off the top. or turn it into a vertical so you keep the full top. Any way you do it would concentrate the attention on the gate house and not what is covering the wall. |

I really like scenes like this one as those old buildings are fascinating. This one, in particular, has a cemetery in the foreground that adds to the interest. The trees give balance to the composition and your colorization is "soft" and echoes the emptiness of the building. Extremely well done. |

What a coincidence. I did mine for something to do as the building itself did not draw attention. Your barn, on the other hand, is a beautiful structure with an interesting design and would stand out in a straight ID b/w presentation. I do compliment you on how you achieved the end result - it was fun wasn't it? |

It was a perfect day for this picture. Not only is the composition good but there were some people in it which makes it more "realistic." They are small enough not to be a bother but make the statement that, "yes, people come to see the monument." You seem to get very good results from CLiR as your colors are pleasing and not garish that Blake seems to favor. |

I wish that you had moved in closer to the ferns as their pattern is quite beautiful. Its that bright light catcher at the bottom right that needs either to be toned down. Also the one at the top needs the same. Both divert attention from the ferns and tree bark. Why not crop some of the bottom and left side to make the ferns bigger. The beauty are the little ferns against the rough bark of the tree. |
