You went through a lot to get to this final presentation. it was worth it. I like the scene of the solitary tree as the cloud formations and light on the water add to the mystique. My sole negative comment is that there is too much black at the base, especially on the left side. Showing the water, but toned down would help although I do realize what you were doing to "hide" the noise. |

Great lighting on the leaves as it brings out the texture and the veins of each one. Unfortunately the dark shadow in the foreground doesn't help. But, your conversion from IR to b/w was quite good. |

It is a very interesting scene, especially with your information about noodles. My only comment is I wish the woman was doing more than just standing. It would add to the interest. I get catalogs from exhibits from around the world and I look at what was accepted. With the exception of portraits, most all the pictures with people have the people doing something and not just sitting or standing. So the next time you photograph the noodle woman wait until she has something to do with the noodles before taking the picture. |

Face it, I like black and white pictures, I always have ever since I started taking pictures. The image that you showed last year of the building was memorable but this is so different that it doesn't compete with the other one. In this one the trees take on more importance as there are several different ones. The building "holds" them together to make a great scene. IR and your conversion technique resulted in a very enjoyable scene to look at. |

I too am struggling with CLiR! Technically I like what you did as the color of the trees is not garish or unnatural. There is a "softness" to them so they don't draw attention away from the cross. In looking at the overall scene I feel something is missing. Why are there steps to the cross? Is there a church building nearby with the cross being a part of the overall scene? Nevertheless, your image makes me stop and examine the scene and I like it. |

You summed up my thoughts as I feel the scene is too busy with too much of the same thing. I've always been of the school that says there needs to be a center of interest whereas I don't see one in this. I converted the scene to a vertical by cropping everything to the right of the sky area. The fewer trees in what is left seem to stand out more. |
