Thanks to all who recommended more contrast. I opened the original and carefully used curves to add contrast to the overall scene. When I compared it to the one that I submitted it was a vast improvement. It is a benefit to being in a group like this one. |

I'd like to learn more about the CLiR course. Your transformation from IR to b/w resulted in an interesting portrayal of a small part of the plant. My only suggestion is that the center of the plant is too bright and some toning down is in order. That part seems to "bleed" together whereas some separation would make it stand out. |

I'm impressed when I see castles and cathedrals and marvel at their construction and wonder how long and how hard building those facilities must have been. Lowther Castle looks like a haven for great photos. Anyway, I really like your end result of coloration. It is very pleasing without being overpowering. The building is so interesting that I experimented with cropping off some of the tree top which then makes the castle stand out more. |

You created an interesting pattern with the low angle. It will make me think differently about bike racks when I park my bike! My only suggestion is to tone down the areas outside of the racks as they draw attention away from the pattern. They are still important but need to be subdued. |

This is photojournalism at its best. The picture did not hold much interest until I read your description of what was being done. Then it made sense and I was fascinated with the process that those men and women did. Your vantage point was good as you included many sheep and the people who were engaged in an activity. As far as the IR is concerned, it neither adds nor subtracts from the overall scene. |

I can understand what you are striving for but for me there is far too much of different interests throughout the entire scene. As much as the reflections in the immediate foreground are appealing they seem to detract from the bridge and the interesting rock with the tree on top. When I experimented with cropping the foreground out then the rest of the scene took on a new aspect with the bridge standing out.
