The lens flair adds a mystical aspect to the scene. My only comment is to crop the right next to the rock (or bush) to eliminate the bright area and do the same on the left to get rid of the stump (or whatever it is) then more attention goes to the lens flair, which is what you want. |

Last year I bought Aurora HDR and have used it a lot whenever I bracket an image. Not only does it merge the images well there are a wide variety of filters for making adjustments to the final image. Your merging went well as the picture has detail in both the dark areas and the light ones which bracketing will do. It is a very pleasant scene and for me the bench really makes a difference as otherwise the eye just goes up the path to the pagoda. The bench makes the viewer mentally stop and rest on the trip up the hill. I can't answer your question as I'm a firm believer in tripods and multiple exposures! |

This one grows on me as the more I look at it the more I like it. At first I wanted to see more of the hill but that was ok as the real interest is in the sky with all the clouds. The tree is very crisp in contrast to the "fluffy" clouds. All in all the concept is great and all the work you did in the convers paid off. |

This is a pleasant scene but for me lacks a major center of interest as the tendency is to look between the two large trees but there isn't anything significant in that gap. I don't feel that the dark blue tone adds to the overall scene. A lighter tone would be preferable. |

I'm surprised that the building lasted as usually "buildings" for a movie set don't last since they are so temporary. Plus, in some areas like Lone Pine, CA where a lot of movies were made, the requirement is to return the area to its original condition after the filming. I have mixed emotions as the building and water wheel are interesting but there is too much surrounding the structure that have the same tonality as the building so they compete for attention. Perhaps cropping the right side at the top of the steps would remove some of the foliage as those small trees are quite bright. |
