Everything works for me in this except the mountains. The clouds are low enough that the majesty of the Tetons gets lost. I don't know what can be done to make them stand out. Nevertheless, while some may say the fence is a "barrier" to seeing the barn I like it as it compliments the barn as it is part of the overall scene. |

The abandoned vehicle is the drawing point and is well surrounded by foliage that will eventually overshadow it. The cloud breaks up the plain sky and the three tall trees on the left gives the viewer something more to look at without drawing too much attention from the vehicle. I like the overall "constructions" of the scene. |

There is so much in the scene that the two people sitting under the tree are practically forgotten. I experimented cropping both sides to turn the scene into a vertical one to concentrate more on the people and less on the buildings. |

I feel there is a lack of contrast especially as the foliage blends into the stonework so it doesn't stand out. The stonework above and around the window is far more interesting and I wish that you had shown more of it. |

The gentle curve of the road and the adjacent trees all make for a pleasant scene. For me, the drawback is that the road is so dominate that while it brings the eye into the scene following it take the viewer out without enjoying the trees. A person, biker or even an auto would be an arresting point to keep the eye in the scene. |

When I first look at a picture that I need to comment on I ask myself, "Does the picture stand alone or does it need a title to explain it." I feel that a good pictorial image should be self explanatory. Because I like history I liked your picture as there are a lot of old bunkers around San Francisco that were built as defensive measures against an attack. However, there is so much around the bunker that it is practically lost. Unless the viewer knows just what the subject is, it lacks appeal as a pictorial subject. |
