I have to admit that in carefully removing all the "stuff" on both sides of the building I simply overlooked the wires. Thanks for bringing it to my attention |

My initial reaction before reading your note was that the barn is almost lost in the foliage. Then reading that you have been documenting the barn's decline over ten years explains why you took the picture. Knowing this makes it more interesting. One appeal of this as a "pictorial" image is the cloud formation. You put a lot of effort into the transformation but I don't feel that it is a "stand alone" picture as too much of the barn is obscured by the trees. |

I find this an interesting effect as without the yellow wall it would not grab attention. Your conversion from IR to a pleasing image was worth all the effort that you put into it. The door makes the scene interesting and the trees, like the door being a soft monochrome works with each other. I compliment you for seeing and recording the picture then changing the original to something completely different. |

This is a "Grand Scenic" with the tree line a good lead in to the field and the grazing animals giving the viewer something to look at more than just an open field. The clouds certainly add to the composition. It was a well made conversion with a very pleasing end result. |

For me the scene would be improved with a person on the bridge so the eye just doesn't go from one side to the other. It needs something to arrest the eye. But I realize finding a person to pose is not easy. The blue tone makes the image "heavy" so a more neutral tone would be better. |

It took a closer look to see the animal (sheep, dog?) on the left. I like it as it adds to the enjoyment of the scene. There is beauty in it scene's simplicity and the way you treated the blue sky sets off the trees. The contrast of the four smaller trees that are leaning with the two tall straight ones really makes the scene. |

This is certainly a good record of the run-down building and should definitely be added to your collection especially because of the auger bits that you described being used to hold up the roof. What I particularly liked is the lighting on the front door as that along with a pole and grass in the foreground would make a worthwhile picture. Cropping could be done to get this but if the building is accessible, rephotograph it head on under the same lighting. |
