I purposely kept the fence as without it, the eye would travel up the path and out of the scene. Even though the fence is a barrier it makes the eye slow down and not go quickly out of the vineyard. (Or keeping the fence might have been too much wine tasting before getting the camera out!) |

Once in a while when I am photographing I feel the scene needs a person and I ask my wife and the dog to be in the composition. This scene, to me, needs a person sitting on the bench either patting the dog or reading but not gazing at the scene. The composition is fine and the color is your usual soft pleasing tones plus the refinements that you did are all good. (Is that a bird or an airplane in the upper right? It looks like that supersonic airplane that used to fly across the pond and back.) |

This has an element of humor and I congratulate you on making the scene. The statue is perfect (and reminds me when "streaking" was popular in San Francisco) as it conveys movement which compliments the "stability" of the tree. Each works well with the other. The IR that makes the foliage white results in the statue standing out whereas a conventional b/w would probably have the statue merge with the background. You did a good job in the conversion and processing. |

To me there is a strong appeal because of the "softness" of the scene. It creates a mood that invites the viewer to sit down and have a bit of cheese and some wine. More contrast would make the items stand out but would not result in a pleasant mood. I have Topaz Textures but have hesitated using it whereas your use of a texture background really adds to the scene - it is subtle but creates a background that, to me, becomes part of the scene. |

I do like this very much as the IR results are not what I would expect. The colors are pleasing and for all intents and purposes, if one didn't know that it was taken with an IR camera, it would be accepted as a straight color image. My initial thought about the composition was that the path seems to lead the eye out of the picture but the more I looked, since the path (in the scene) is very short, it does not detract from the main element - the pond, the "island" and the surrounding foliage |
