After reading the comments I went to my files and opened up this image. I applied more contrast with curves and dropped out most of the black sky. It does make a difference. Many thanks. |

What you did certainly made the picture more interesting. In my judgment there should be something in the road to keep the viewer in the scene. The tendency is to follow the road and unfortunately it leads out of the scene. The object in the lower left on the wall is too dark so it does not draw attention. |

When I was working in Rochester, NY the old building I was in overlooked a street that was at one time a canal that went through the city. Your image reminded me of pictures that were taken when Broad Street was part of the Erie Canal. So in my mind your photo is a bit of history when canal travel was a major way of transporting goods. Having the boat in the scene made it more than a record shot. The Steam Mill sign must be apart of history. My only technical comment is that the top left looks as if it was burned a bit too much. |

You were standing in just the right spot for this as the steeple is in an opening in the tree branches so it can be fully scene and the interesting shadows on the ground "point" the viewer the direction to look (as if the viewer needed help). While it is a good conversion from in IR I feel it needs more contrast to make the church stand out. |

These ruins are certainly intriguing and invite photography. I imagine one could find many potential pictures in around this one. You captured it well and cropped off part of the building as it was repetitious. It was a good conversion as the dark sky and the foliage beyond the ruins make the ruins stand out. |

So many deserted buildings that I see over here have plywood covering the open windows and doorways to keep people out but doesn't do any good for photographers. The "openness" of this one really gives the feeling of being deserted. Two aspects that I particularly like are the buildings in the distance which in their own way compliment the one you photographed, and including the fence as it promotes the feeling of "remoteness." I wondered if you were able to move back more to include more of the fence in front of you. I do like it doing it in b/w or IR as it creates a far more interesting subject than a color rendition. |

The construction of the church certainly makes it a "photo op." You did it well as the blue sky and the gold door add a nice touch and makes the image stand our more than if it was a b/w conversion. The trees on the left give a balance to the composition |
