9 Nov 24 Reply Hi Douglas, thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you appreciated the cropping-I feel like sometimes less is more when it comes to composition. It's always fascinating how small adjustments can completely change the feel of an image. I'm happy my approach resonated with you! Nov 20th
9 Nov 24 Comment Hi Randy, The black-and-white effect works beautifully to highlight the textures of the granite peaks. I might consider cropping the sky slightly to make it about 1/3 of the frame, which could add even more drama to the composition. Great eye for spotting this scene-it's a stunning capture! Nov 20th
9 Nov 24 Reply Thank you, Sylvia! I'm so glad you loved the colors. Honestly, I was speechless seeing this for the first time-nature's wonder with the icebergs on the water was truly breathtaking. It felt like stepping into a dream, and I'm so grateful I could capture it! Nov 19th
9 Nov 24 Reply Thank you so much, Jim! I'm glad you enjoyed the composition and colors-it really was an incredible scene to capture. I especially appreciate you noticing the glacier in the corner; it felt like a subtle yet important element of the shot. While I was focused on photographing the glacier, the motorboat unexpectedly came into the frame, adding a dynamic touch to the scene. Your kind words mean a lot! Nov 19th

And I'm definitely looking forward to seeing you and Sabine-whether it's on that chartered plane or not! It's going to be an unforgettable adventure. Nov 19th
9 Nov 24 Reply Thank you so much, Yvonne! I'm glad you liked the blue colors-it was such a striking scene. The light really made the textures of the ice pop, and I'm happy you noticed that! Capturing the excitement of the travelers was definitely something I wanted to highlight. I'm excited to share more from the trip soon! Nov 19th
9 Nov 24 Reply Hi Randy, Thank you, Randy! Iceland was an incredible trip, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the colors. The contrast between the blues of the ice, the water, and the orange life vests really stood out to me too. The horizon could have been off, but I didn't notice it when I took the shot. I appreciate your keen eye, and I'm excited to share more from the trip soon! Nov 19th
9 Nov 24 Reply Thank you so much, Sabine! I'm thrilled you found the landscape breathtaking-it truly was an unforgettable experience. I've just returned from Iceland, and surprisingly, I did very little editing to this photo; the colors were naturally this vivid and awe-inspiring. Your kind words and encouragement mean a lot, and I'm excited to share more from my trip in the future! Nov 19th

9 Nov 24 Comment Hi Jim, The vibrant red of the cardinal really pops against the green background, and I love how your crop brings it into focus so dramatically. For a different take, I could see a horizontal crop working nicely to frame the image and give it a wintery, Christmas card feel. It's wonderful that this pair has been visiting you for so many years-it adds such a personal touch to the photo! Nov 19th
9 Nov 24 Comment Hi Douglas, The little girl's side glance is adorable and adds a sense of curiosity to the image. The edits you made to clean up the background and adjust the lighting work well to keep the focus on her expression. While I noticed the cropped ear initially, it doesn't take away too much from the overall feel of the photo. I experimented with a closer crop and slight adjustments to saturation and sharpness, which I found gave it a bit more impact. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on those kinds of tweaks! Nov 19th
9 Nov 24 Comment Sylvia, The background has such a beautiful, whimsical feel that really captures the mood of a fall landscape. At first, I didn't immediately notice the mushroom as the main subject, but once I read the title and description, it all came together for me. The soft focus adds a dreamy quality, and I like how it complements the mysterious atmosphere of the scene. Nov 19th
9 Nov 24 Comment Yvonne, your "Harlequin black and white" image is stunning! The black-and-white treatment really highlights the geometric floor patterns and makes the staircase feel even more dramatic and eye-catching. The vertical perspective is especially effective, adding depth and realism that truly draws the viewer in.

A small suggestion: there are a couple of black spots on the right side that might benefit from being lightened up slightly to keep the focus on the staircase's elegance. Overall, it's a beautifully composed shot that captures the complexity of the spiral perfectly!

9 Nov 24 Comment Sabine, this portrait of Denis is fantastic! The elevated perspective adds a unique, engaging quality that really stands out from typical eye-level portraits, and Denis's expression feels natural and authentic. The lighting from above creates a beautiful depth and accentuates his features without overwhelming highlights.

The black canvas background works well to keep the focus on Denis, and your choice to brighten the image just enough to show detail in his hair was smart. The worn blue shirt and necklace add personality, enhancing the relaxed, genuine feel of the portrait. Overall, it's a striking, character-rich image!
