Thank you very much to all of you for your valuable comments.
For the past 9 months I have been travelling a lot with my husband...India, Canada, USA and now in Singapore. Enjoyed every moment of it but unfortunately now I am flat with back problem. Hopefully the traction and the physiotherapy works fast!!! |

I like the color and the composition of this picture. Agree that it is not very sharp. I would prefer to make the trees and the bench straight and not tilted. (can be fixed in PP)
To me, Hung's B&W looks better than the colored version. |

Very interesting image. The icy floor looks exactly like broken glass. I think you can bring the details in it more by increasing the contrast.
I like what Harry did with the leaf.
The play of light is making it even more interesting. |

Hung, I agree with Harry that this is not a winning image. Having said that, to me it is a good story telling picture.
Although the mother and the two kids are out of focus but still my eye goes to them...because of their expression. They can feel how hard it is for the cycle man to pull it up hill.
I think it may look good in a panel of similar pictures. |

Shirley, its a beautiful picture indeed!
I don't have anything else to add to the above comments.
I would prefer much narrower border ( if at all) and also reduce the brightness by one stop.
All the best for the contests. |

Such a beautiful image showing the character as well as the emotion. I agree with Piers and like the color version more.
BW also working good but would consider to have slightly more contrast. Hung's version is also good, except the whites on her chin and nose became over exposed.

A very nice and a sharp image I must say.
I feel Harry's cropping is too tight and therefore I will go with the original.
The PS work is well done. Which tool have you used for the selection. I believe Pen tool is the best for the job but every time I try to use it...ends up in frustration!
The light falling on the elephant is perfect. Considering the direction of the light, my only suggestion would be that you may consider to make the catch light a bit dimmer.
Good job Piers! |
