Following Bob's suggestion, I have reworked this picture.
I moved the house up, eliminated the horizontal road and re cropped. Any comments on this version? |

Tony, congratulations on your picture being chosen for the home page. It's a great nature image and tells a good story of the relationship beta mother and child. |

I'm on the side of those voting for b&w! I find the bluish ice on the right confusing. The tones in Bob's version is far more appealing to me. |

I also prefer the color versions as those pink and orange tones are so gorgeous! Difficult to get a good composition when the birds are so close together. |

I like the b&w conversion because the green staircase is no longer dominant. The tones are good and the fish eye perspective is interesting. How did you manage to photograph this without any people in the way? |

That's a good suggestion. I will try it. |

The patterns and symmetry make this snake pop!
I would also clone out that brownish blob in the lower right corner. |

I also prefer the blue version without the rocks. It has a sense of mystery about it. It also expresses flow and movement towards the left. The blue and gold are complimentary and adds to the mystique. |

I love this low down and close crop. The diagonal angle of the edge of the shell is a nice touch.
I guess this action was easier to capture than the whales jumping out of the water! |

You are much braver than I am! But the eye level shot really makes the composition "pop". The ox pecker also helps to provide some color to the image. Well done. |

The bee is reasonably sharp and the out of focus background is well handled. I would crop even more from the top and right side up to the edge of the flower. |

What a strange looking insect. And well captured at 600mm! The lovely bokeh allows the main subject to stand out so well. |

Your macro work is truly beautiful. The color harmony has added to making this a perfect composition. |

Nice composition of this family group. I know it was raining which has left the image rather dull. Luminar Sklum and Nik Color effex have tools that will add brightness. |
