Hi Don, Thanks for visiting our site. The paths and sidewalks on Santorini are are quite narrow, with buildings on each side. In the late afternoon it is particularly crowded. So to step backwards I would have included more of the surrounding buildings which I did not want. Here is one with more surrounding distractions and less emphasis on the bells and their shadows. |

Your are so imaginative and creative that I am quite jealous! The fence forms good contrast to the water. The color palette that you have chosen works well. |

The tree is so powerful with its thick base and branches meandering through the scene. The lighting is good also to provide life to the tree. HDR works well. |

I love the layers that you have created from front to back and the color palette is amazing. Your horizon line is also in the perfect position.
I find the bird distracting and would have left it out all together. |

Yes. You are right about the dodging. I was too sloppy! |

I love the line of people leading my eye to the Ferris wheel. Well done getting them coming towards you rather than back views.
I agree with Bob's suggestion to crop out most of the right hand wall. The left wall is more interesting and less distracting. Perhaps a horizontal flip will help this situation and have the people walking right to left - the way that we read! |

The mergansers are great, but the background is too sharp and therefore competes with the subject. Perhaps you can repeat the sharpening procedure that you did to de-sharpen the background. I find the branch going diagonally from right to left being too prominent and would suggest cloning it out. |

Diane, welcome to our group.
Your first image is interesting and well presented. I like the lead in lines provided by the mud under the water.
I might darken the center of the main branch of the tree. |

I love the way that the lion emerges from the background. My eye concentrates on the nose and eye. I don' mind the dark presentation as there is just enough light in the background to emphasize the face. |

Jacob, You have done a good job in brightening the butterfly and the flower. And you have handled the background nicely by blurring it. I find the butterfly to be a little grungy, perhaps from the extreme crop. What size was your original raw capture? I would crop the top and left even more if you have sufficient pixels. |

Cindy, You obviously have a good eye for patterns as you walk around in the wild. I tend to look up for the birds and miss the obvious on the ground in front of me! The curved lines and complimentary colors make this image pop. |

Pierre, This one is another winner. The mallard is perfectly placed ion the composition and the weather conditions provide a good clean background. And the ice provides an element of place and time.
I wouldn't even crop anything! |

Dean, This is a very artistic presentation. There is just enough in focus while the background provides interesting shapes and textures. I like it. Well done. |
