I love the picture as it is with the 2 trees acting as frames. I always try to capture layers in my landscapes, and here you have done so perfectly. The mist in the valley and those wispy clouds in the background make this a winner in my eyes. |

I prefer the wide panorama of this scene. I know that the boat is important to you to complete the story, but I find it too bright and indistinct to stand on its own without your explanation. So I would clone it out. Also the bright reed just in front of her face should be toned down or removed. |

I'm always impressed that you can see patterns in almost any situation. Once again I like Kirsti's crop as it emphasizes the pattern even more.
I do find the trees to be distracting in your presentation. |

I visited this area of Canada about 4 years ago and was also drawn to these colorful fishing villages.
I like the way you have saturated the colors as it makes the image "pop". And it highlights the small fishing shacks on the dock which one sees all over Nova Scotia. Well done on removing the 2 extra boats. |

Not this one but did get close to many others. Watch this space in the future! |

Interesting that we both have pictures from East Africa this month. We were in Kenya, so not close to Mt Kilimanjaro. I think your composition is perfect as you have not only shown us the animal, but the environment where she lives. The late afternoon lighting is wonderful. |

My eye is immediately drawn to the eye of the top bee and this is reasonably sharp. I prefer Kirsti's crop eliminating the lower flower. I think the colors and lighting make this a worthwhile image. |

Good job on catching the bee in flight. The bee is reasonably sharp despite the crop. I would crop more off the bottom to just below the center of the flower to give more emphasis to the bee. After all, the bee is your subject and the flower is secondary. |

An unusual picture with the feeder being so prominent, but your composition tells a good nature story. I like the fact that the 5 birds are all in slightly different positions, giving us a good feel of what these birds are like. |

The b&w conversion works well and I'm pleased that you were able to portray the mood provided by the fog. I would be happier if the moose was not in the middle of the scene. A crop from either the top or bottom would fix this. |

The woodpecker is nice and sharp and I don't mind the inclusion of the feeder. Unfortunately the lighting was very difficult and in my opinion prevents this image becoming a winner. The bottom of the body has caught the light, leaving the head in shadow. I see that you have opened the shadows as much as possible, but the contrast doesn't work for me. Also there are bright leaves in the background left which can be toned down or cloned out. |
