I agree that this is a difficult picture to critique, but has created a dialogue, which is really the object of the game!
I like the way the rock is balanced by the large outcrop in the right background. So I darkened this area by copying the color of the main rock and reduced by about 75%. I then cropped the image to place the main rock more to the left and using the now darkened rock in the background as a balance. What do you think of this suggestion? |

I also vote for the original with a little crop off the bottom. The colors in the sky are magnificent.
I particularly like the way you have composed to show the hills rolling from left to right |

You have captured the character of this subject very well, with the intensity of his stare. I don't mind that he is not looking at the camera, as I think it provides some tension and adds to the mood.
I do like Kirsti's crop which balances the portrait so much better. |

When we were in Hong Kong, the mist was so thick that we could not see the city from the top of the hill. So I love this composition, and the mood that you have been able to capture.
I agree that a crop from the right would balance the picture better. |

This is a great nature shot. I like the movement in the wings which makes the bird less static. The background bokeh is good, but my eye is immediately drawn to the bright yellow circle in front of the beak. I would clone it out unless you intend to use it in a nature salon. |

Great picture of the bear in his environment.
You photographed him off center to the right which is always preferable, but then your crop places him back in the center. So I would suggest cropping from the right maybe up to the edge of the large rock. |

Ken, the colors are great in this aquarium picture. Dean's crop helps to get rid of distractions and focuses our attention on your main subject. The diagonal line of the 2 subjects is really pleasing. |

My eye keeps going to the bright yellow flower behind the moth. The moth is also quite dull.
Jacob, for many months now several members of the group have suggested to you that to improve your photography you should avoid the harsh light of the middle of the day. Great nature pictures are captured in the "magical hours" just after sunrise or before sunset. |

Great action here with the 2 herons interacting. I find Dean's crop too tight as it cuts off the feet, so I would crop just above the thick branch coming in from bottom left.
I also brightened the birds using levels and sliding the white point to the left. |

Great action and I love the movement in the water, and the water drops all around. Its a little difficult to make out the 2 heads clearly and I don't think its as sharp as it could be. Perhaps a higher shutter speed would help. I was taught to try to use a shutter speed about twice the focal length of the lens, so 1/1000 secs in this case. |

Took a while to work this one out, so thanks for including the original as a reference point. The bud is very sharp and portrays cold conditions.
I might have included a little more in the crop to give us a better perspective. |
