Your portrait is compelling and her concentration on what's happening in the basket is great. I find the Xmas tree to be distracting. I know you want to represent the Xmas market, but is the tree really required? For me the portrait stands strong on its own. |

Your scene is well composed with the framing on each side. I like the light in the foreground leading my eye through the landscape to the mountains. I agree that the mountains are rather washed out. Perhaps adding contrast or a curve layer would give it more life. |

I love the moment of interaction between you and your subject. This is a wonderful portrait showing us what life is like in other parts of the world. |

The underwater tree trunk has a surreal appearance. Well done on seeing this subject matter and portraying it so beautifully. Your color harmony is excellent.
I might remove some of the branches entering the frame on the right side. |

Your color palette is wonderful taking advantage of those rich gold and blue hues. Your treatment to the lighten the roof has also helped. I particularly appreciate the symmetry of the church, which is more important to me than the ceremony and the people. |

Geoff. We are sorry that you are leaving our group. I have enjoyed seeing the Australian wildlife that you have presented, and will miss your direct, to the point, comments on our work.
Good luck on your travels and adventures in the Outback. |

In South Africa we have the African Darter which looks very similar to your darter. As Brenda mentioned this bird is called an Anhinga here in Florida and its feathers are more black.
I know you don't like cropping, but I would crop a little off the top, about half way from the top to the beak. Great lighting! |

Obviously a blue sky background would allow the bird to stand out better. But in this case your crop eliminating the sky works very well.
The eagle is perfectly sharp and the yellow beak and feet help it to stand out from the background. This is definitely a winner. Well done! |

A young guy like you should be able to get down lower to capture the bird on its level. Some of us older folk can get down but then have difficulty getting back up!
Your crop has provided a pleasing composition and I like the inclusion of the branches in front.
I would suggest darkening the background just enough to get rid of the shine on the stones.

Cindy, you have caught the action extremely well.
I agree with Brenda's comments about the background.
On my monitor the hawk looks a little washed out. I would add some contrast to make him stand out better from the background. |

Great action here Pierre. I agree that rear ends are not ideal. I think Brenda's crop emphasizes the rear end too much. Your second crop is better.
I find the bright background detracting. I think it would be worthwhile spending some time to darken the sky and also the branches behind the animals. |

This is a simple image, but the colors work so well together. The bright red on the leaf immediately catches my eye.
And all the diagonal lines help the composition immensely.
Well seen - most of us would not even notice this.

The face looks sharp to me. I use Topaz AI sharpener to sharpen the main subject.
It will be interesting to see what the other members in the group think about the sharpness. |
