The unusual angle makes this image so appealing. The head and eyes are so sharp. But you must have shot with the lens wide open as you depth of field is so narrow. Well done for thinking out of the box. |

The monkey is beautiful, well lit and stands out from the background. The branch behind the tail does not bother me.
I know you like the framing provided by the vegetation.
But I have cropped to a vertical to concentrate more on the monkey. Let me know what you think of this suggestion. |

Jose, you have a great eye for interesting architectural images. The balance of the windows and the diamond pattern of the wall are perfect. And the object on the lower right prevents the symmetry from becoming too perfect.
I might have removed the 3 electric items to the right of the right window.

The black and white works so well here and the high key certainly adds to the impact. The light on the face is good and you have just enough detail in the blacks.
I agree with Jose about the crop from he top. |

What a great nature story. The water drops and reflection of the beak are lovely.
Ido agree with Jose about some of the larger bright spots in the upper part of the background. |

Everything works for you here. The curve of the tracks. the framing with the building on the left and tree on the right and of course the beautiful lighting on the mountain. My only complaint is the "junk" in the center of the picture, but I realise that you couldn't do anything about it. I guess it is part of the story of desolation. |

Thanks Jose for your comments and suggestion about the crane. See my new version without it. The 2 white spots on the left are part of the framework of the roof so I did not remove them. I guess they could be darkened. |

I never thought about removing the crane because it was there. But here is a version without the crane which I agree is much better. |

Thanks for sharing more of the strange creatures from your country. As you mentioned, this one does have some problems especially with the background which was out of your control. But it does show us the environment where they live.
Do they usually live in large groups? |

Brenda, I love the way you have processed this one. The scrub jay stands out so well from the background to make it "pop".
You were right to leave in the foreground to provide a base for the composition, and the vertical crop is ideal.
I see many of these birds around my house but have never been fast enough to capture one. |

If you darken the background considerably, it will help to enhance your main subject.
What an interesting plant! |

I understand that you want to show us the environment, Pierre, but unfortunately it is not very interesting. I would go for a vertical crop, keeping the reflection and the reeds in the background, while eliminating the branches in the water. |

I think he blends too much into the background. Obviously that's good for him to provide camouflage, but not good for us! If you brighten his face considerably, it may make it stand out better. |
