Thanks for the constructive comments.
I have cropped off the bottom, lightened the main character, and enhanced the color in the sky by adding vibrance and some saturation. |

Looks like the shadows from a wrought iron gate.
Simple but effective, nice clean lines and a good composition. |

I am basically a nature photographer at heart, so can really appreciate this picture. The colors are great and the pose is so unusual.
The bright circle in the background upper left is a minor distraction. I would either darken it or clone it out. |

You have achieved a good balance between street photography and a posed portrait by taking advantage of their set up. The light shining through their hair makes them stand out from the background. And the street is nicely out of focus with just enough information to show that it is a street scene. |

This is a nice clean image that tells a strong story. Very relevant with all the fires in California this year.
However, I prefer the color version which provides more contrast than the b&w. |

Nice panning action. I would like to see more space in front of the horse and less behind. At present it is very central.
I also agree that some sharpness on the riders face would be preferable, but I know how difficult these shots are, to get the right balance between blur and sharpness. |

Everything works perfectly for you here, Geoff. And it shows that patience pays off - I'm sure you waited for the right moment to press the shutter.
Color harmony is wonderful, and the bit of blood on the beak is an added bonus.

Brenda, the hawk is so sharp and the feather texture so wonderful that the leaf does not bother me at all.
I wonder if it ever came back to this spot after your husband trimmed the trees!
I agree with Candy about the bright spot on the tree above his head.

Jacob, I might have chosen to work on the single mushroom on the right and eliminate the 3 on the left for the following reasons:
1) it is brighter
2) the background distractions are easier to clean up.
3) it would eliminate the red flower in the background which I find distracting.
Overall this is an interesting subject - one of your best so far.Keep on exploring and experimenting. |

As usual Candy, this is beautifully processed. The color palette of green, orange and red work well together, and you have eliminated all the background distractions. |

Pierre, this is one of your best wildlife shots. The stance and reflection are just wonderful. The background is busy but so what! That's where these animals live. This is a great nature story. |

Great capture that works so well in B&W. I agree that at first I thought the rocks were waves!
I would prefer the horizon line to be less close to the middle of the picture - maybe crop just a little off the top. |
