Anges, You have captured the action and the mood of these horses, and the dust certainly helps to show the movement. The sky could be a bit darker or you could change the sky in Photoshop - Edit - Replace sky. I think Bob's treatment leaves the mountain too blue which I find unnatural.
I would crop off about 20% of the right side to concentrate more on the horses. |

Interesting repetition of patterns. The color palate is great. Well seen and nicely presented. |

Very artistic interpretation, Belinda. I admire your vision to put this together. And yes, I agree with the other comments and suggestions for the moon. |

The composition with the river, the trees, the branches, the roots and the lichen are great. I feel that the bird is so small in the frame that it is more of a distraction, and I would suggest cloning it out. The image would then not need to be so over sharpened. |

I love steam trains! In the olden days in South Africa we used to "chase" steam trains early in the morning and try to get them coming up hill so that the smoke was at its most intense.
You have done well with what you had to work with here - mid day and tourists.
However, I would like to see less on the right side and more added to the canvas on the left. We don't need to see the second rail track and its row of poles. The old engine is great and well done on getting the light on. |

I knew that there was something wrong with the color but couldn't identify it. Thanks for pointing out to me. Here is the updated version taking out the magenta and straightening using Nik Perspective Efex |

Opening up the shadows has brought the fungi to life. Try selectively darkening the background to be less distracting. |

This is such an unusual picture and even though it would not strictly qualify in a true nature competition, I love it! I agree with you keeping in the right hand bird even though it is partially blurred as it helps with the extra reflection on the left.
My only quibble is the small bright area on the edge of the frame on the left side, just left of the bumper. |

The gallinule is beautifully portrayed and stands out well from the background. The flip adds to the composition and as far as I know is permissible in nature. In the old days we would often mount our slides back to front to achieve this.
The out of focus leaves in the foreground are a slight distraction, and so I would darken the bottom considerably and possibly add a vignette. Is that allowed? I'm not sure. In any event this would not do well in a nature competition as the tail is out of focus. |

Once again you have brought out the detail in the bird in the feather texture and by enhancing the eye. Of course the action is great, and the clean background really helps to set off the bird so well. |

It is so unusual to see two species sitting so close to each other in perfect harmony. They stand out well from the background despite the background being quite messy. I agree with Geoff that a tighter crop would be better, especially from the top, which would also get rid of that heavy branch. |

The colors of the flowers is great and you have handled the background well.
I think the composition is greatly improved by flipping the picture horizontally, so that the main flower faces left and is more prominent in the frame as we view from left to right. What do you think? |
